Top one I think is an sm captain, the bottom one definitely is - he's old though. My friend used to beat me up with him back in 2nd ed.

2nd one looks like some form of champion - not sure what though.

Actually, I'll guess at the second. It might be an Emperors champion.

That third Captain's from 2nd edition, but otherwise yeah, this is right on the money.

Interesting trivia (not calling anyone out on this - it's actually a very easy mistake to make). That first one is just about, just by a TINY bit, a 2nd ed Captain. He came in this boxed set, which was released a month before 3rd edition as a kind of "something's coming, what could it be?" bit of marketing:

That being said, the models in that command squad have (for the most part) aged incredibly wel.

He was still around in 2nd, but was initially released in RT. They released a bunch of redesigned Marine stuff towards the end of RT that carried over into second, including half a dozen Marine Commanders. This guy was one of those. As was the original Tycho model (although initially sold just as a 'Blood Angel Captain')

I totally agree. I've always loved the Banner guy with the bracer around his wrist for his bolter.

While I love the way the minis look, the wargear options aren't the best.

Captain with a stormbolter and power sword? Not that good. If you call it a relic blade he gets a little bit better. Mine's a bit dusty these days, long time since he's seen combat.

Techmarine with a power weapon, and servo arm, not harness. Can't use him as a MotF, not worth the points and elite slot as a normal techmarine. Shame, he's one of my favorite miniatures in my collection.

The guy with the auspex has been distinguishing himself as the sergeant of on of my devastator squads. Not a whole lot of reason to field plain bolters in command squads.

Which is the only problem with the banner bearer. Besides the dubious question of including him in the squad.

The apothecary is just as good as any I've seen, metal, plastic, or finecast.

So, any more minis? I have to admit it was pretty fun finding out what the heck those minis were and it's interesting to know more about OOP stuff

This guy?

More trivia for you whippersnappers (though it looks like insaniak already knows this). This guy only became Tycho after being named as such in a battle report that (I believe) appeared in the 2nd ed rulebooks. During the battle he was taken out as a casualty thanks to an Ork Weirdboy attack, which gave him his backstory. By the time Codex Angels of Death appeared he'd been fleshed out into the Ork-hating, Harvey-Dent-faced bitter grudge nugget we all know and love.

And then he was put in a Dreadnought! Don't leave that out!

Er, ehh? Nooooo, Tycho is dead now. Dead dead dead. DEAD. Deaded dead.

Finally inducted into the Death Company in the 3rd war for Armageddon, which is why he has separate DC rules:

Thanks, Insaniak. I knew it was but couldn't be arsed to look it up.

No. He's in a dreadnought. A death company Dred.

The GW suggested conversion is to use a metal furioso with Gazzy's claw on both sides.

There is a whole article and story about him. Came out in a WD after the 3rd war for Armageddon World wide campaign.

I almost made the conversion myself.

If that was ever true, it's since been retconned, in Codex to boot. I subscribed to WD both sides of the Armageddon campaign too and don't remember this... so I think you may be getting mixed up with Moriar?

(edit) if it *IS* true, do me a favour and point out where? I know we can't scan or anything, but issue and page number would do and I can find it from there. Would hate to think I'd missed it all these years...
