The next scheduled event at Big Robot Games:

Date: Sunday, July 28, 2013
Time: 10:00am
Points: 1850
Rounds: 3 @ 2 Hours
No ForgeWorld. All standard and updated GW Codices will be allowed.
Players: 20 Max
Cost: $15 (All entry fees will be applied towards prizes. 1st 50%, 2nd 30%, 3rd 20%.)

Mission Format: We will be using the "Bay Area Open" style mission format which involves all three book missions (Seize Ground, Capture and Control, and Annihilation) in use each round. These are considered the “mission objectives”. (Seize Ground will have 3 objective markers.) The winner of a game is determined by the player who accomplishes the most mission objectives. If you both accomplish the same amount of mission objectives, the game is a draw.

Deployments: From the main rulebook: Pitched Battle, Spearhead, and Dawn of War in Rounds 1, 2, and 3, respectively.

Scoring Format: The scoring format uses battle points which are calculated based on game wins and VP spread. The goal is to make the tournament close so that players always have a chance for a comeback.

Points are awarded each round as follows:

VP Spread Winner Loser Draw3
0-250 12 Points 8 Points 10 Points (both players)
251-500 14 Points 6 Points +/- 2 Points
501-750 16 Points 4 Points +/- 4 Points
751-1000 18 Points 2 Points +/- 6 Points
1000+ 20 Points 0 Points +/- 8 Points

In the event of a draw, the player with more VPs receives an additional amount of points based on the spread to the 10 points granted by a draw. The player with less VPs subtracts the amount of points listed for that spread from his 10 points. In this type of system, it is best to continue playing your best, even if you might not win the game, to try and gain as many points as possible due to the VP spread.

*We are aware there have been some problems/concerns in the past, with regards to who is the TO and whether they are playing. That has been addressed. The TO will not be playing in this event. Yes, we are borrowing the format of another successful event. Please bear with us. We're trying to make this a good experience for everyone involved.*
