Very mobile killy Autarch that is extremely hard to kill, I'll send him out to take out an opposing HQ or key unit. DA are for objective taking in enemy territory, gave there serpents the scatter laser to use in conjunction with the serpent shield attack. Guardians are for cover in front of my aegis and to hold my objectives. Warp Spiders are for killing whatever I send them at, as any infantry is going to die if they volley into them, including terminators, and they can even pop landraiders, as any 6's they roll will then pen on a 5 or 6 (str 7 ap1). Scatter Laser / Starcannon group of walkers is for anti-horde/marines/termies, and the EML Flakk walkers are a real catch all with good game against flyers (why I brought them), they can go anti-horde, anti-light/medium tanks, and most importantly, take out flyers. The new Dark Reapers look very strong, there basic starswarm shots are str 5 ap 3 Heavy 2, which is great against meq, and I gave them strarshot to also help with vehicles. The Reaper Exarch will be on the Quad Gun, 5 shots at BS 5 that ignore jink (all the reapers ignore jink in fact), is my main anti-flyer unit. I really liked the list at first glance, but worried a little about AV 13/14, but when I realized what the spiders could do now, I think it will work well. Any critiques?

They get +1 str against anything equal to or lower than initiative 3, so they are str 7 against vehicles. On a roll of 6 they become ap 1. So str 7 ap 1 (add 2 to armor pen), means its like str 9, so a roll of 5 or 6 penetrates AV 14, roll of 4 glances it.

ummm first of all no...on multiple levels...ap 1 only gives pluses once you are rolling on the vehicle penetration chart. secondly you don't get ap1 when rolling to damage vehicles only when to wound...which means only infantry...probably an oversight that will be faq'd but who knows. Also you need some anti av 14

My mistake, so yes, they can pop up to AV 13, will probably need to drop one of the warp spider groups for fire dragons, they seem to be the only reliable AV 14 killers, though the Heavy Wraithcannon seems like it could get the job done, maybe a bog standard wraithknight? Automatically Appended Next Post: Made this change to accommodate some Fire Dragons for AV 14.

for av14 I just take 2-3 Walkers with 2 Bright Lances for 140-210 points...thats 4-6 lance shots EVERY turn (including turn 1) which is something fire dragons can't do...they can only hit on turn 2 if they get ther...and its more points...thats my thoughts on it.

I agree I don't think you have to have Fire Dragons like in 5th where you needed to spam them. While you certainly can I would consider war walkers or Fire Prisms (as their high beam is S9 with Lance !!!)
I like the warp spiders - and it depends on your play style - you may want to vary it up - take some vypers with scatter and shuricannon underslung or shuricannons +/- holofields to keep them alive longer, it is a good option if the Heavy section gets filled.
One thing for anti air - with your dark reaper exarch getting fast shot - take the icarus - You will only miss on 1's and you get 2 S9 shots more likely to kill something on intercept and save you 15 pts!
I think spiders are good but I think if you are going for fast army with all your wave serpents the vypers might go with them well.
As for troops I would consider dropping one guardian squad not in the transport - 1 behind the aegis is fine but the other should be in a wave serpent or on bikes to be faster and more protected - if you have the points give them a warlock with spear. You could as an added punch take storm guardians and take two meltas or flamers - flamers would give you anti-horde and melta more tank killing goodness with a warlock with spear - makes a good antivehicle and a scoring unit unlike the fire dragons..
Just some thoughts.

i agree. walkers with all BLs are devastating. they can be easily killed though, so i would recommend taking 2 squads of them.

Based on further recommendations, this utilizes the BL walker idea, guardian jet bike idea, and Icarus. I don't love the idea of having a Crimson Hunter, but I don't want my only out to flyers being the lone Icarus, and then I figured if I'm going for a Crimson Hunter, might as well get BS 5 and 5+ precision shots, this way if he's not going after a flyer, he can try and pop an HQ or standard bearer etc.

I have experimented with the same Autarch, and found him to be an easy first blood and for you warlord point against tau. And you will undoubtedly run into one Tau player, but hopefully not play! Also, I have not found anyone really successful with the Eldar fliers mostly because they have paper armor. You have to plan on going second to make them an effective flier killing machine. I'd save points and invest in something else. Maybe a farseer, or another squad of bikes? Besides that, I think it has potential.
P.S - I cannot find ways to make the Eldar fliers work, but you should definitely try it out if you feel it is worth a try!

I like the list a lot...in the tactics section there's a mathhammer post about eldar AA vs different degrees of armor. Its also on either 3++ is the new black or frontline gaming. I forget which site.
it points out that pretty much other than a flier our BEST AA is actually Warp Spiders (better than flakk missles even on WW)

This can be good or bad. A smart enemy will shoot them killing 3 guys so that they need to take a morale check.
Its better to take a more resilient unit with 20 Guardians to hold a home objective.

The 20 man blob seems reasonable. And I know the conventional wisdom is the AV 10 Flyer is too weak - however it does pack quite a punch and I'd like to give it a shot as a one of at least once.

I actually used the Crimson Hunter yesterday against armoured Chaos player. The Hunter was able to take out a Land Raider, 2 Rhinos, and inflict 4 wounds on the 3 Maulerfiends. I was able to jink the 3 times a shot went through and scored linebreaker at the end of the match! The Crimson Hunter is well worth it for the 160pts Now encorporate the Hunter with 3 Warwalkers w/Scatter Lasers 24 Str 6 shots....say what!

Heavy Support - 3x War Walkers w/ 2x Bright Lances
Heavy Support - 4x Dark Reapers w/ Starshot, 1x Exarch w/ EML Flakk & Fast Shot
Fortification - Aegis Defense Line w/ Quad-Gun
By dropping the pricey flashy autarch I was able to get a bog-standard farseer to give me BS 5 quad gun shots, as well as use prescience/guide on any of my heavy support units. By putting him there I was able to give the reaper exarch a flakk EML, bring my total BS 5 skyfire shots from 5 to 6, while gaining the aforementioned psychic buffs. With the extra points saved I was also able to max out the guardian blob to 20 and take both platforms, starcannons. I realize the reaper squad has the same points cost as one of the 3x walker crews, but they are each so specialized, one anti-meq/infantry, the other anti-AV; by staying with the reaper squad I have a group that can provide me some skyfire, str 5 ap 3 anti-meq shots, or str 8 ap 3 anti-AV shots. Though in a vacuum I'd rather have walkers, the versatility of the reaper crew really rounded out the list.

Good list but a couple of things i would change...
Maybe a wraithknight with heavy wraithcannons and a scatter laser for the laser lock.
Also some support like jetbikes or shining spears for the autarch will make it even harder to kill.
Maybe a fire prism shooting at AV13+ with the lance shot will do something to those fairly easily.
Other than that a very good list

Well, I'd let one of the Guardians operate the quad gun. A Farseer is one of the best support characters in the game.
Warwalkers with brightlances are hit or miss. I'd take the scatterlaser/brightlance combo.
Dark Reapers are questionable since thee unit has no ablative wounds.

I agree that they are some of the best support in the game, but if i take him off the quad gun I lose BS 5, he needs more points to make him mobile and useful, and since I have a few glass cannon units in the back with him, they are the ones I'll want to be casting guide/prescience on - since when a glass cannon connects it usually destroys stuff, and I need them to get there points back before they get shot up.
"Dark Reapers are questionable since thee unit has no ablative wounds."
Aside from not knowing what an ablative wound is, and though I also agree that the Dark Reapers are a situational choice, with two scary War Walker squads and my HQ standing next to them, I don't think they are going to be getting shot at too much.

BS4 Twin-linked is VERY good, so good that BS5 TL doesn't make much of a difference.
I find the reapers to get ignored often. Maybe i'm playing opponents unaware of their power, but the stuff that's pushing forward tends to get shot first. I've also had success with the reapers starting in reserve. Assuming they come in on turn 2, they can walk on and shoot now they have slow & purposeful. By then, my opponent will definitely have bigger threats than the reapers on turn 1.
I take twin BL walkers. Mainly as they make a great target for guide, making them TL anyways.

Ablative wounds means that there are no cheaper models to take away first, like in a SM Tactical squad a Marine with a bolter, here its better to keep the Sergeant or the heavy and special weapon Marines.
