Hey folks,

I've just gotten my hands on two boxes of skull cannons/blood thrones and I was wondering if there was any reason why the +1 to armor the chariot provides wouldn't boost the unbreakable armor greater reward to a 2+ save?

I had a difference of opinion with a GK player and would like to know the forums take on whether the rewards are wargear.

Thanks in advance.

Then one night as I listened at the door I heard the shrieking viol swell into a chaotic babel of sound; a pandemonium which would have led me to doubt my own shaking sanity...

they arent wargear as such but an effect that the character has since you spent the points to buy it. I dont have the rulebook in front of me but i dont remember chariots increasing the armor save and i cant find it in the daemon codex i have either.

It should work. If anyone ever bothers to attack the rider, then its a nice advantage.

What's more likely to happen is everyone will attack and destroy the chariot, leaving the rider to disembark in the center of the wreck.

The rider is a character, no? So might be able to make use of the bonus in a challenge.

Otherwise, whether the armour save comes from a piece of wargear, a reward or whatever else makes *NO* difference. The chariot bonus doesn't make that distinction, it just says it improves armour saves. That's all there is to it.

You can't do challenges on a Chariot.

Chariots having rear armour 10 in most cases really destroys their use in CC.

Yep, and what makes matters worse is that if the IC cannot disembark closer than 1" from an enemy model....

That's why we don't see the necron CCB any more. I think the oval base khorne chariots use is more than 2" + 1 round base across, but I would have to double check.
