im teaching a new friend how to start warmachine, and i figured what other way then to fight him with somthing im not used to 100% yet ( since i mostly do warmachine ) and do hordes

caster - lylyth - 6wb points

warbeasts -

x2 shreaders - 2 ( 4 )

angelius - 9

ravagore - 10

seraph - 8

my general idea with this is to kill infantry ( if any ) with the continuous fire and range of seraph and ravagore, and when they get close with their big things ill - 3 arm to it with lylyth and charge with shreaders and anythign else that is heavy angelius will poke to death

but how do i let something else take damage when my castor takes damage i forgot how to do that

If it's his first game I would think about introducing him with a 25 point game, 15 points tops but the battlebox is preferred.

This. 25 points is not the way to show a new player how to play.

To your list, drop a shredder for 2 shepherds. There's no way lylyth can handle all that fury herself

thats the whole points im not, im either going to focus on range or focus on melee, not both at the same time

also he has 25 points of cryx on the dot.

Why hinder yourself. If he is a new player I would be more forgiving but not hinder myself. You should show of different mechanics and it will give him a better understanding of the game if he sees how a normal force is run effectively. Don't go all out on him but certainly don't hinder yourself by making an in effecitve list. That helps no-one imo.

ok then how should i run my list, or should i switch to menoth or khador

Run it like you would a normal game. Just slow down and explain what you are doing. if your opponent is about to make a mistake warn him of some of them but not all and say what his mistake would allow you to do. If you don't remind him of everything you will punish him and that will be more of a reinforcement to no do it again and helps him realize mistakes he may be making. The force you run doesn't really matter I just don't recommend running a disfunctional list on purpose.

Also in responce to the original post. If you have a fury point on your caster when she takes damage you may use that fury point to allocate the damage to a beast in your Ctrl range so long as it does not have full fury. Damage is allocated as normal for the beast i.e you roll for the spiral the damage goes into. Any damage that is left over from the beast if it dies from the damage goes back onto the caster and cannot be transferred again. So say you get 10 damage dealt and you transfer to a beast with 8 health left. 2 of that damage would be reassigned to your caster.
