Hi guys, I picked up a German hmg platoon and I am confused by the scale. It is the GE754 pack and the guys are much much bigger than my British rifles and starter set germans.

Any reaon for this?

As it happens I git the wrong ones and needed latewar lol, however reluctant to get them if they are bigger too.

They're not a different scale, but I wouldn't be surprised if thy were bulkier than the starter set Germans, like you said. The plastic infantry is pretty thin.

Battlefront do occasionally suffer from size differences between ranges/sculptors. My British Paras for example look like a bunch of right shortarses when placed next to some of my late war Germans.

It's probably closer to reverse scale creep since the starter set plastic miniatures are newer (and weedier) than the metal EW miniatures.

Ahh ok so I was just lucky with the British rifles being the same size as the open fire stuff.

Gutted I ordered the mg34 team rather than the mg42 lol

Unless you point it out, most people won't even be able to tell the difference at 15mm, to be honest with you.

You can always just say that the Early War Germans were a bit better fed than their late war counterparts

There are molding tolerances you can achieve with plastic models that you can't achieve with metal molds so in 15mm it is not unlikely that the metal figs will look a bit chunkier and clunkier than the plastics. You can resolve this by finding more Open Fire plastic sprues on ebay, or looking into PSC's plastic infantry options as well.

Or you can use them all interchangably and realize that on the table top the difference will not be as glaringly obvious once the figs are all painted, and the models are being looked down on to on the table top instead of inspected up close at eye level.

The downside to plastic 15mm infantry is that, while it is cheaper, it is nowhere near as durable as metal 15mm infantry, especially when it comes to things like gun barrels.

Well if you are planning on playing Early War then you really shouldnt have MG42's anyway as they hadnt been developed yet. Mind you as someone else said at 15mm it isnt the end of the world, most people won't notice or care.

My MG34 armed early/mid war armed germans often take part in late war games. The MG34 was still being used right up untill the end of the war anyway.

The British metal Rifle Company I picked up seems actually to be slimmer and shorter than the plastic Paratroopers they fight alongside, in my case.

This is VERY true...got one of the Open Fire infantry sprues as an "extra" in a Warstore order and just from shipping most of the LMG figs had guns with barrels mostly snapped off. The way I drop my stands all of my figs would have stubby machine guns eventually.
