The Spawns/Chaos Lord may not make use of FLEET, because only units that completely consist of models with the FLEET usr may do so.

Big mistake made by chaos with Magma cutters which can only target a model already hit by its claws, meaning it couldn't be killing additional infantry. Magma cutters are only really good against MC and armor.

Was there any specific reason the BA player didn't zoom his flyer so he did not have to snap shot every turn against the drake?

To answer your question Furious Fire Dragon - i 'think' Bobs reasoning was to switch to hover to fire all his guns into the rear armour of the drake. If he continued to zoom it would take a couple of turns to get his guns lined up on it, or he would have to shoot at it through ruins. He took a gamble and hoped sheer volume of shots with twin link could help him beat the snap fire odds...
