Okay so after a long time of being out of 40k ,the ass end of 5th edition about deamon hunters codex release. I stopped playing 40k due to IRL problems and a case of the grumbles about where GW was going. But over this time I've been to game stores to pick up basic model kits and see those old familiar models and now i am seriously considering reimmersing my self back in to the wonderful world of grim dark. So what I'm asking is how has things changed and what is the environment like now and is it even worth returning?

Hi there.

There's a fair few threads from people asking the same thing.
Look for threads asking how 5th changed into 6th edition, and the affects it had on assaulting, wounds, and transports in plarticular.
Flyers are now a standard option, and most codices have them as a choice. Some were released in the Death From the Skies book, which are gathered up from last year's WD articles.

Again, the starter box is seen as good value, which is odd, as GW are packaging kits into multi-option boxes, or 3x, like they did with the Eldar jetbikes.
GW are releasing codexes at a flying pace, and most armies will be re-done by the end of next year.

The environment depends on where you live, and the clubs and FLGS near you. Look in the Find A Game section for those.
