I am deciding weather i should get the chaos space marine decimator on ebay or not. This guy named miniwarzone a.k.a MWZ is selling one but this guy has 0 feedbacks. Its a commission painter so im not sure if he could paint the model as good as its shown in the picture. If you were me would you trust this guy? Thanks in advance.

No.
I wouldn't trust anyone with 0 feedback and a big item. I'm sure everybody has to start somewhere, but there are other ways. (I'm a seller on ebay with 100% feedback in the hundreds and my friends with no feedback go through me if they want to sell something.) He may be on the level, but the commission pic would send up a big red flag to me.

I notice my posts seem to bring threads to a screeching halt. Considering the content of most threads on dakka, you're welcome.

Definitely a big NO. I'm still having issues with ebay members who have hundreds of transactions and 100% feedback! Research thoroughly before you conduct business with anyone!

I would contact him through EBay and have him/her email you pictures of his previous work and expected payment levels for that quality of work. I would ask for references of other users (unless he is new and has none).
If you can come to an agreement I would start with something small and cheap, a generic HQ choice like a FarSeer, Nob, or SM Captain.
From that you can decide if the quality of work, timeliness of delivery, and price paid were actually worth it.
If you like the transaction, then you can go onto something larger/more expensive, but offer to become a quality reference for him (for others to ask an opinion on) for a price deal.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?

Thanks to all the replies , but i got another question, this guy offers no returns and exchange but i am protected by ebay's buyer protection so i should be ok right? the commission is gonna take a long time to complete like over a month which i don't mind as long as the item ends up looking as good as the picture.

I'd find someone either established with great feedback or someone local to you to get what you need.

I believe paypal have a 45 day return policy?
If you haven't started claiming your money back by the 45th day, you can't get it back.
So if this guy screws you over and then plays for time, theres not a great deal you could do about it.

However, firing ordinance at someone isn't nearly as threatening as firing ordnance at someone.
Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.

even a novice ebay user should have a little feedback. To me, 0 feedback screams of scam. I'm not saying this is the case in this exact instance, I suppose everyone has to start somewhere, however... I wouldn't risk my money on a first timer. At the very least, his commission business hasn't been going for very long and he is inexperienced at using ebay. That alone would be enough for me to pass.

Thanks for the info, i guess hes taking over a month to paint the items on purpose so the 45 day policy on the protection would expire and he would get away with it, i could see it now, thanks again i won't be falling to this guy's trap.

It might not be a trap - he could be genuine. With no feedback you can't judge though.

The best bet is someone you can speak to face to face, or one of the more established painting services.

Would anyone be able to recommend one?

I wouldn't sell commission work through eBay. Indicates a startup without the clout to punt for business through other channels.

Sounds like a setup for this type of scam. They get your money and then play you along for the 45 days, saying the model is close to being finished, that it has been shipped, maybe it came back to him in the mail, etc. to get the 45 days to run out and then you are out of luck.
