Death-Dealing Dark Angels Devastator

Alright, I know that Dakka is probably tired of DA lists since the new codex release, but I'm looking to start collecting a DA army and wanted some feedback on an initial list. Without further delay:

Azrael
Command Squad: 3 vet, 1 Champ, 1 Apoth, Sacred Banner, 3 PW, Drop Pod
5 Scouts: Sniper rifles, Camo Cloaks
3x Ravenwing Attack Squad: 3 extra Bikes, 2 meltagun, MM attack bike, Vet Sgt
Ravenwing Attack Squad, 3 extra Bikes, 2 meltagun, MM attack bike
2x Deathwing Black Knights: Perfidious Relic

Thinking: I like Azrael partly because he allows both DW and RW units to score (should I chose to run both ravenwing and deathwing lists) but also because you can usually use a Company Master model as a stand-in, you can get one dirt cheap on eBay. He will go in the drop pod with the command squad and drop first turn into the opposing backfield with the Black Knights. My plan for the scouts is that they are a point-cheap troop option that can sit on a home objective and snipe, or infiltrate and attempt to pin. I have little thought that they would survive a game, but any shots towards them isn't going to my other troops. With my HQ and Black Knight dropping in first turn, my bikes will charge across the mid-ground. Hopefully it will cause my opponent to pick his poison, the elites that dropped or the bikes coming at him. I know that this may be an all or nothing strategy, but that just means decisive games, doesn't it? Thoughts?

Which banner are you using specifically?
Just to clarify: you're taking DW Knights? You realize that they're not scoring?

You don't have much in terms of fire support and zero anti-air.

Just my 2 cents...

Likely Standard of Destruction, and I know the DW termies don't score. I really don't expect them to last long, but hope they'll cause more damage than they take.

What would be a good fire support for a Ravenwing army? Auto/las Pred, Rifle Dread, Devastator squad? Or would, say, a Nephilim provide both support and AA? (I"m still fuzzy on 6th edition rules, so please bear with me. I've been away from the hobby for a while)

You can never go wrong with Dev Squads. I run them in just about every list I make. A squad of four Plasma Cannons is going to ruin an opponents day, doesn't matter what they are playing. I would actually run two squads at 2k points. just put them in some terrain with a good LoS across the board in case they start taking ap3 or better shots and they will be surprisingly resilient.

Ok, so I've looked at what advice has come in and thought ont he codex and came up with two lists bouncing around my head now.. One is a tweak on the initial post, the other leans more towards a focus on Ravenwing. The first:

List 1
Azrael
Command Squad: Champ, Apoth, 3x Power Weapons, standard of fortitude, drop pod

Scouts: 5x sniper, 5x camo cloaks
(2x) Ravenwing Attack: 2 extra bikers, MM attack bike, 2x melta
Ravenwing Attack: 3 extra bikers, MM attack bike, 2x melta

2x Deathwing Knights , Perfidious Relic
Aegis Defense Line w/ Quad Gun

Tactics: Pretty much the same as the first.. If possible, the ADL would be withing range of an objective with the scouts manning the gun (sgt shooting, preferably for the BS 4). Azrael goes in the drop pod with the command squad and drops first turn with the deathwing knights. If they soak up fire the bikes get a turn to get in range. If the bikes take fire, I've got three primed melee squads ready to go. My main worry is that I could still be lacking in AA and AT capabilities if things go bad early.

List 2
Sammael, Corvex
Ravenwing Command Squad: Champion, SoF, Ravenwing GL

(4x) Ravenwing attack: 3 extra bikers, 2x plasma, MM Attack Bike
Ravenwing Attak: 3 extra bikers, 2x melta, MM Attack Bike

(2x) Devastator Squad: 4x Plasma
Aegis Defense Line w/Quad Gun
Scouts: 5x sniper, 5x camo cloaks

Tactics: Pretty straight forward with nothing to drop from the sky. Depending on situation some of the RW squad may combat sqaud and scout from reserve, or they might deploy en masse and floor it across the table. Sammael will preferably be screened by other squads until in range as well as boosting them with the SoF. They advanced under cove by a ton of plasma and the ADL, which is manned either by one of the devastator units or the scouts depending on situation. If the scouts don't man the ADL, they can infiltrate up or sit a home objective. My main worry here is that high AP shots, large blasts, or cover ignoring fire will make short work of my bikes.

Any quality thoughts or feedback will be much appreciated!

That's pretty solid. The Ravenwing command squad is better at plasma duties than the attack squads. Consider buying the extra two bikes for the command (see the DA FAQ) to access two more plasma talons (or a grenade launcher with Rad rounds, it is a great force multiplier for both your TL boltguns and plasma cannon support). Drop some plasma on the attack squads for flamers, as you seem to have enough melta. At 2000 pts you can face a LOT of orks or nids. Flamers round out your horde killing ability.

"That is not the way. The warriors from the sky are above the squabblings of the clans. We choose only the bravest of the plains people. We take no sides."

Thanks for the feedback! Hopefully this list will prove as good as it looks.
