Subject: Mantle of the Laughing God - what is it exactly?

"Every few decades, the Harlequins converge upon a particular craftworld, in search of a champion who will bear the mantle of the Laughing God in pursuance of some dire task. Whilst he bears the mantle, the champion will surely walk in dark and perilous places, but he will not do so alone - the Laughing God was ever sentimental of his follows, and watches with keen interest those who do him honour."
I'm planning out my Autarch on jetbike conversion and basically I'm looking for advice - what do you think would be the most accurate way to represent this on a model?

A cloak sharing some similarities with Spawn's cloak? Something that both envelops and yet has tendrils looking for other things to cover?
It has a life of its own - something I'd not trust GW to sculpt - since they have already proven they can't do flame or ice, either.

Personally, I like the style of the mantle of Death Master Snickch of the Skaven, but it has more of a nightmare before christmas vibe than Spawn.
You could also go Wheel of Time on it and make a Gleeman's coat, seeing as how the Laughing God is, and favours, the jester.

Is it the cloak? I always thought a mantle was the extra-long shoulder pads and the bit that joins them that goes round your neck.

A mantle is a strip of cloth that you wear on top of whatever else you are wearing. A highly impractical piece of clothing, as it's just cloth hanging off of your shoulders and usually all the way down to the floor, covering you so you might step on it trying to walk. It's usually used to show your office. Catholic priests love the things.
Batman wears a mantle.
The term is used quite loosely about any piece of cloak/robe/cape that doesn't have sleeves though. That's really the main thing. No sleeves.

By that description in the OP, I think chromedog's idea of something akin to Spawn's cloak/mantle would be close to what you'd want to see.
Given it's a Laughing God iteam, crazy color schemes and insane shapes may need to be applied.

For me it's a diamond patterned cloak with lots of colors like the Harlequins. It will be completely out of place on an Autarch so I think it's not easy to imagine it's the Mantle of the Laughing God.

Thanks for the responses. I think I'm going to struggle trying to model this on a jetbike as it's hard to find any sort of cloak/cape to fit on it. I've never used green stuff and don't really plan on starting just yet.
This is my idea so far:
Eldar Jetbike
Metal Harlequin canopy
A Kabalite Warrior helm
Dark Eldar Reaver under hull blaster (possibly model to be a fusion gun?)
or
Probably the cheapest way to get a fusion gun/spear/autarch body would be the upgrade kit for jetbikes
Another option is using this model to get the top torso and cloak
Not sure how the heck I will get the cloak to fit over the jetbike seat though. Seems like this is going to be an expensive exercise but I want a really nice centrepiece for my army.
Another cloak I've seen is this from a Vampire Counts Wight Knight
However it is a fairly hard to get bit and would also need some creativity to fit on.
