Hi, I'm new here (though I've been lurking for a few months) and I'm looking to sell some old Tau stuff, though I'm not ready to yet, I'm just looking for some kind of guidance on what I could get for them. They're not in great condition and they have some annoying dust in crevices, some antennae are broken, and they're not built particularly well (I built them when I was 13), but there's quite a lot of it. A few dozen Fire Warriors, at least 20 Kroot, several Gun Drones, three tanks without accessories (one Hammerhead, two Devilfish), three Piranhas, three Crisis Suits, an older Ethereal, and I think that might be all. I'm hoping to get $100 for it, but I don't know if that's wildly off or anything... What do you folks think? When I figure out a good price and can get it all together and cleaned up some, I'll probably be back here to sell.

Ah okay, thanks. I wasn't quite sure where to put it even though there are non-trade threads in Swap Shop.

Full disclosure: i've never used the swap shop here, but i've been a bartertown member for years and years with feedback in the mid two-hundreds, so i'm coming with my opinion from that place.

It really depends ... if models require both repair and stripping (of paint, primer, or both), and cleaning ... that's a hard sell.

That said, 100 bucks for that amount of stuff isn't bad as long as there aren't any critical pieces missing.

I think it really comes down to just how bad "not built terribly well" means

There are people out there that will absolutely go through the time and effort to fix / repair such things. You just have to find them - and make sure you are 100% upfront and honest about condition, missing stuff, etc (seems like you are already, but just re-iterating).

If i hadn't just acquired a big tau army myself, i'd probably take a gamble for 100 bucks. As is, i pretty much have everything i need other than pathfinders.

Good luck !

PS: if you have pics, that will really help a prospective buyer.

If you had any old stealth suits knocking around I'd snatch them up for sure. Don't be fooled by the country flag, I'm only visiting, actually live in the US.

Like watching other people play video games (badly) while blathering about nothing in particular? Check out my Youtube channel: joemamaUSA!

I should have specified that they're not painted, with the exception of a drone glued to the Hammerhead, they're all unpainted.

I'm not sure exactly how bad they are as I've only ever really seen a few non-professional armies in person, but they're not terrible compared to those. The main thing is that there's excess glue on most of the models, and when I built them (again, at 13) I didn't know to match up the gun arms with the supporting arms on the Fire Warriors, so when I couldn't get them to fit I put most of them in poorly done "reloading" or "grenade throwing" poses.

I'll definitely take some soon, or they'll at least be present in an actual swap/sale thread.

Unfortunately no Stealth Suits, sorry.

Hello everyone, I'm back with some pictures and a complete list of what I have. Any help pricing them would be appreciated.

Okay, so first off the list of items! I'll do it in the order they're shown in the imgur album, Here

3 XV8 Crisis Battlesuits, some glue damage and excess plastic
11 Gun Drones, some excess glue, one missing antenna.
1 metal Sniper Drone controller, honestly no idea where this came from since I don't have any Sniper Drones, but this guy's mostly complete, his device is missing its stand thing and I gave him a Fire Warrior backpack.
1 metal Aun Shi Ethereal, no damage whatsoever
1 attempted out-of-suit Farsight conversion (from the old O'Shovah model), a headless Fire Warrior (the missing head looks rough but its a smooth cut) with most of a tank commander torso (the rest is Magic Sculpt), the hand gripping it is probably lost, but the Dawn Blade itself is unharmed.
23 Fire Warriors, not great poses, excess glue, a little excess plastic
54 Kroot Carnivores, light converting on two intended Shapers (green stuff cloak, shoulder pad and carbine, you can see in the closeups), 19 missing arms/heads or broken.
Kroot accessories, some arms, heads, used bases, etc.
3 Pirahnas, one with fusion blaster (included, but not attached), two with burst cannon
One of the Pirahnas took some damage on the rear end and was repaired with a shoddy Magic Sculpt job
2 Devilfish Transports, excess glue, a broken antenna, no drones, and no landing gears.
1 Hammerhead Gunship, some excess glue and plastic, a little paint, no drones, no landing gears.
Vehicle accessories, two tank hatches, one burst cannon, and all but one large floaty base.

So what do you think? What would be a good price for this?

Free. Sorry to say it, but the assembly quality is really bad. You've got glue puddles everywhere, parts not lining up properly, etc. Salvaging it would be difficult at best, so your only hope is to sell to someone who doesn't really care about quality as long as it's cheap.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
