Great conversion. Are you planning on adding any arms?

Mechwarrior aesthetic, arms not necessary! I think for those proportions arms would look silly. Possibly low hung limbs in a t-rex fashion sporting the guns/missiles, but proper arms don't look right on that (especially if he's going for mechwarrior look).

Arms are NOT necessary, but fit with the Mechwarrior/Battletech aesthetic. Proper Mad Cat/Timberwolf arms would look awesome, especially if he is going for the mechwarrior look. The difficulty would be making a convincing looking 40K version of the arms without wrecking what is already an awesome miniature

Very cool. I've mechcommander 2 and I LOVE battletech stuff. So let me say. I don't know if that's a Madcat. Maybe a varint I haven't seen. But the Madcat I know is stronger looking and is also known as a Timberwolf.
Still very VERY nice medel and paintjob. I'm quite impressed with this.

I am working on a design for arms using legs from Defiler kit but so far I haven't found the right weapons to add to the arms, arms from the Dreadknight are way to short and stumpy. I'm open to suggestions. Also not sure about what hands would look best, making a sculpted hand would take a while to complete. The next step would be to figure out what kind of Weapon to add on the Arms or should I just use the Nemesis Hammer or GreatSword from the Dreadknight. Might just let it go as is so that I don't screw it up.

The next step would be to build two more Storm-Wolfs, write up an Apoc Data Sheet and run them as a Squadron in bigger games. If I figure out the arms two may get the Sword and the third the Hammer.

Another suggestion was to make a giant Storm Shield for a 3+ Invul Save, but I thought was a silly suggestion.

If start with the base cost of a Storm Talon it would be 110 Pts, add the Twin Linked Las-cannon for 30 Pts, and the Typhoon Missile pod for 35 Pts it would 175 and a Squadron of 3 would be 525 Pts.

If I figure out how to make the Arms work, the Nemesis Hammer is 10 Pts, the Great Sword is 35 Pts, and maybe a Storm Shield at 30 pts.

They would have Armor 11 all the way around, WS 4, BS 4, S 4.

IDEAS, IDEAs....

Well, if you want to achieve a Madcat/Timberwolf ascetic I would recommend taking the Las Cannons off and putting those on the ends of the arms. You could potentially also do this with the Assault cannons if you wanted to model your own rotary cannons underneath the lascannons.

What you have reminds me more of a Stalker or Catapult.

Any tips on how you made the legs, and possible WIP pictures?

I mostly just followed the instructions on the Spikey Bits Blog. Here is the link for their website http://blog.spikeybits.com/2012/06/how-to-stormtalon-assault-walker.html . They also have a video @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vDnFPBGjOw.

The only major difference between mine and theirs is that I used two Magnets to connect the Storm Talon Fuselage to the Hip Joint from the Greyknight sprue instead of all the plastic tubing. I think the Magnet holds better and allows for more rotation. I seldom take pictures of anything until I've finished. so nothing else I can show you other than the Spikey Bits Blog, but I hope it helps.
