So some rules thing is bugging me.
For seizing the relic, it said only "a model from a troop squad an sieze the objective" So my question is, Can a Character who is attached to a troop squad (like Samuel to a bike squad) carry the objective for the team? he isn't scoring himself, but he can grab an objective while attached to them?

"A model in a scoring unit can seize the relic...."
The IC is in a scoring unit, so yes.

Doesn't matter. As long as he is attached to a scoring unit, he is a model in a scoring unit, correct?
Therefore, he can pick it up.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

That's how I read it too.
As an extension, if the scoring unit dies, nothing seems to indicate that the Character drops the Relic. Indeed, said Character could even join a non-scoring unit and move away with the Relic.

Just so you know, if someone's reading the rules to you, thats not what it says. Fragile has it right. If it did say what you're quoting, the guys giving you crap would have a point. But it doesn't.

Yup, this is correct. Sucks when a Nurgle CSM Lord attached to a squad of Plague Marines picks up the Relic...

Best tactic I saw - Warboss on bike with FNP Warlord trait attached to 30 Boyz picked up the Relic and immediately charged the SM gunline hiding behind an ADL.

"the model carrying the Relic...can never move more than 6" in any phase" ( BRB p131)
It's highly unlikely that the charge distance+pile in move of the Boss was less than 6", which means he probably would have dropped it.

2"+3" pile in (potentially, unless he was leading) +3"+ consolidation at end of combat, potentially, can easily result in dropping the relic

Alot of that scenario would depend on how wounds are allocated. It can be very easy to not move 6" during the assault phase.
