Hello, I am making a Dark Eldar Army (in the mail). Unlike my last army I wanted to spend a bit of time painting and making them look good. In the process, I wanted to base them well. I was thinking of using these...

I would use these for my Incubi, and Kabalite Trueborn. It would not be lava however, but green or purple dark energy flowing through the rocks to fit my colour scheme of black, green, and purple. I looked online, but all the results were of normally colored lava bases.

Is there a question in there? I think the concept you've put forth would look pretty awesome. I'm not as much of a fan of just basing specials/characters fancily though, I like a consistent base style throughout the army. That isn't to say that the higher profile figures shouldn't have better versions, just that I personally prefer consistency in bases. Maybe if the grunts had rocky bases with less or no cracks, maybe something easier to do by hand but in the same general colors to tie it in.

Scroll about halfway down for what looks like some kind of acid base. Is that vaguely what you meant by green for the resin lava bases?

My google-fu is too weak to find purple dark-energy bases. I'm sure it's been done (and sounds cool as hell) but I don't see it when I look!

Ah, those look nice aside from the white specks, but different strokes for different folks.

The question was basically to see if anyone has models like I'm talking of, or has these bases (or similar) to this effect.

I too like consistency, my troop choices will be on slate bases without the dark energy

Sounds good. I'd go try it out myself but I haven't got any cork or the like laying about (and obviously no resin lava bases ). I'm sure someone has done it before, we just have to hope they see the post
