Hey everyone.

Just a quick clarification from a game we played the other day.

If a vehicle (in our case a Land Speeder) deep strikes, can it move flat out in the following shooting phase?

We played it as no, because it explicitly states what you can do after deep striking - Run or Shoot.

But I can see the argument that because you can shoot, you could move flat out instead of shooting.

What's the popular opinion, both RAW and RAI?

GW never comes out and says it but moving flat out is running for vehicles. If you are playing it because it only says run are you allowing vehicles to take Invuln saves, they are only allowed when wounded per the BRB. That being said if you can run you can flat out instead.

Gravmyr, you do realize that invuln saves got faq'd, right?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Yes I do. Same idea, just because this hasn't been addressed does not mean that you shouldn't extend it to match up terminology between run and other types of movement in the shooting phase.

Q: Can Bikes / Jetbikes make a Turbo-Boost move, or vehicles move Flat Out, on a turn that they arrive from Deep Strike? (p45)
A: Yes.
