Subject: Salamander Terminator Sergeant - C&C more than welcome!

Ok, I'm slightly anxious of this model. He's the penultimate member of my 1st Assault Terminator squad - the Midnight Hammers (Media Nocte Mallei), and not only that, but he's also the Sergeant - hence, I've attempted a few things that I've never done before, so I'm anxious of the reception it'll get. First off, I often get criticism that my bases are a bit dull, so this is a first for a scratch-built lava base. Similarly, it's a first for a full length GS'ed Salamander scale mantle, and the ornamental cord attaching it. I'm also worried about the leg detail and the fire effect of te lightning claws. To sum it all up - this model makes me anxious as I'm not sure how well I've pulled it off! :(
Nevertheless, may I present Veteran Sergeant Aethon Antilochus, I hope you enjoy the viewing, and please feel free to leave C&C!
PS: Just a little question, but do people usually use Dakka's Auto-adjust feature? I have in these pictures, but I fear it makes them too dark!

Looks good to me, especially the freehand. All I would suggest it to brighten up the Crux Terminatus a shade, maybe with another highlight so it isn't quite so dark.

That is great! You have done the Salamanders proud. I would agree with Dreadclaw69, in that the Crux Terminatus could be a bit lighter.
Great job on the cloak, and the free-hand is excellent.

Phew! At least some people like it. Thanks for the kind words people, they're very much appreciated. as for the Crux Terminatus - it is a bit lighter without Dakka's autoadjust function, but I do agree that I seem to have missed out a step . If you take a look in my gallery, my other Terminators with Storm Shields have a much lighter stone effect - apologies on my part there. :(
@Jimsolo - Thanks dude, always good to hear from another Salamanders painter.

Personally, I think the lava base is a bit over-used on Salamanders, but you've done a really good job with yours. (I love the bubbles!)
That freehanding on the shin is just out-of-this-world.

Yeah, I do agree there, that's why I'm only going to use it on my Captain (Pellas Mir'san) my 5-man command squad and other notable figures such as Veterans Sergeants etc.
The bases were made with a generous helping of Lemmingspawn's tutorial below, but with a few tweaks of my own - the best thing is that they are incredibly easy to produce, and judging by everyone's reactions - they look good too!
Just as a little sidenote, the detail on the greave has an English theme to it - it's supposed to be the White Dragon, which is the emblem of the early Anglo-Saxons as they fought against the native Britons. Those native Britons were pushed into what is now Wales, and their emblem, the Red Dragon, now adorns the Welsh flag. So, just a little history lesson for you there.

Why thank you!
@All posters - Oh, and if anybody would like to know how to create lava bases A) Here's Lemmingspawn's epic tutorial on how to do it and B) If you want an idea of which Citadel/ GW paints I used, (Lemmingspawn doesn't use Citadel in the below tut) then feel free to just PM me and i'll give you a list.
