Hi everyone,
Well I have always liked warp spiders but hated the old clunky models and have always thought about converting them so this time around I had a look at the new miniatures and finally found something I could work with.

Those look amazing. Which pieces did you use and from where? The torsos look like regular Guardian torsos with different pieces glued to the back packs and the legs look to be from the Dark Eldar Scourges kit.

EDIT: Are those the heads from the High Elf Shadow Warriors? i am looking at the models trying to figure out each part haha.

Looks great, from what I can guess:

Scourge legs
Dire Avenger Torso
Shadow Warriors Head
Wraithguard kit for backpack conversions
Wraithcannon for gun?

All in all theres guardian bodies, scourge legs with all the spiky bits taken off and the bare feet made to look like normal eldar shoes, the heads are from the new shadow warrior kit and the death spinners are normal shuriken catapults with the barrel cut off and replaced with the barrels of wraith cannons, the warp jump generators are the leg plating from the wraitblades and the cloth/armor part on their backs are the loin cloth parts for wraithblades.

Oh and the twin blades on the exarch are from the dire avengers kit, the left arm is the grav weapon guys arm that reaches to the side of his helmet with all the fingers bent down in to a fist.

I'm glad you like them thanks!

Neat stuff, seem a lot more Eldarish than those old warp spider models.

I love those warp spiders, and for me that's saying something. Never been a fan of eldar. To me they just seem like the one race that doesn't quite fit with the grimdark aesthetic of 40k.

Please note that is just my personal opinion and not an attack on eldar players/painters. I would never refuse to play against eldar, I just wouldn't collect them.

However if you feel the need to disclose the recipe for that Khorne lord I will happily... Erm " borrow it" lol

Love that pain token counter. Karate+Dark Eldar+Space Marine throat kick=a lot of yes.

Your Warp Spiders are excellent looking. I would actually collect Eldar if you put together my models. I bet you could do some great things with Harlies.

Do you do ships, too? Your kit bashes look great, I would love to see some Serpents.

Anyways, excellent job, I would love to see more from you.

Some nice conversion work on those Warp Spiders, shame GW haven't updated the models yet (and the jetbikes). For the sake of continuity though have you considered maybe using the same piece for their generators? If you have a favoured generator you could use greenstuff to make a simple press mould.

But then the GW IP police would kick in his door and beat him up (or cease and desist, they like those).

I'm not going to get into a discussion about recasting as such things are frowned upon here, but I very much doubt that scenario you outlined would happen.

Well no, not really, I just don't want an otherwise productive post getting shut down or such by the MODs out of duty to agreements and all of that jazz. No disrespect intended.

As much as I love the actual Warp Spider models, your converts are frikkin cool and I hope whoever is sculpting the new ones(whenever they get around to it) takes note.

Wow, thanks for all the great comments guys, the khorne chaos lord is made up of raptor and skull crusher parts, I think the backpack is from the possessed kit.

Im planning on doing a similar thing with a unit of swooping hawks but I'm a little stuck on the heads and getting hold of any scourge feathered wings. I was maybe thinking of using dire avenger helms with the plumes cut off and a bit of GS work for the mouth grill kind of bit, anyone have any suggestions?

I love them all except the first one (swords). The backpack seems kind of rigid somehow. I did a similar bash, but I used the existing backpacks (a little modified). Yours are much sleeker than mine.

Nice Job!

No problem, I'm a terribly slow painter especially because I don't live where my models are, so when I have the full unit painted I'll post up some more pictures, and maybe the Hawks when I get round to them.

Nice.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.
