so this is my army list for my newly aquired nid swarm ive only payed one game against necrons with em and they performed pretty well though it was a close game.
the over all strategy is to drop lots of nids into the enemy line while the rest of my army advances giving a little covering fire with my heavy venom canons.

HQ
hive tyrant
-twin linked devourer
-heavy venom canon
-hive commander
-armoured shell

Swarmlord

Troop
19 hormagaunts
-toxin sacs

19 hormagaunts
-toxin sacs

20 termagants -mycetic spore
-devourers

20 termagants-mycetic spore

tervigon
-catalyst
-scything talons

6 tyranid warriors-mycetic spore
-venom canon

Elite
10 ymgarl genestealers

9 ymgarl genestealers

doom of malan'tai-mycetic spore

Heavy
carnifex
-heavy venom canon

trygon prime

so i start with the hormagaunts and swarmlord as far up in my deployment zone while still being able to have some cover. while my tervigon just hides behind whatever cover she can find. my hive tyrants and carnifex i try to find a good fire lane with some cover for them. the real fun starts when my reserves come in and throw my enemies line into havoc the warriors and the trygon give me the synapse coverage so i deploy them first and arrange the rest of my units around that hopefully getting my doom within 6" of the biggest threat my opponent has. and from there i just let the fun begin.

any feedback is always appreciated. as ive only played one game with this list i feel i may re work a few things over time.

Ditch the Heavy Venom Cannons, there are not much good against anything. If you want a long range gun use the Stranglethorn Cannon. More likely to hit and has the potential to Pin.

Same thing with the Venom Cannon, they just got nerf batted badly with 6e and were not that good in 5e.

Well it's ok. Just need to trim the fat and move some upgrades/weapons around.

Like he above poster stated. Forget venom cannons. Your walking swarmlord and hive tyrant need a guard. I'd recommend giving your tyrant wings and going the flyrant route. Wings and pair of twinlinked devourers.

Ditch the pod for the naked gants and give it to your carnifex. Give the carnifex devourers as well.

Get a tyrant guard for your swarmlord.

Hope that helps.

i did find the venom canon missed more then it was useful the few times it did do anything though it took a good chunk of necron warriors down. I just like the potential of it versus the reality i know i aint gonna hit much with BS 3. flyrant was a route i was thinking of trying out next match i played with them, so ill give that and some guards a try see how that runs. thanks for the input.
