Hi heres my idea for an average all round Blood angel infantry list that I could build on in the future... What do you think?

125 - Librarian JP SoS and ???

240 - Assault Squad (10) 2x MG PF MB


080 - Sanguinary Priest JP MB

230 - Assault Squad (10) 2x MG PS MB

Idea was to make a list that would allow me to be successful and have fun at my FLGS - while still keeping with the fluffyness of the blood angels.

I do have 15 points leftover for tweaking the list - sooo any suggestions? - Thanks

Looks good but you might want to trade one of the assault squads for a tac squad for more firepower against horde armies. Also, you don't have any AA. 3 meltaguns won't do it. Maybe add an ADL or stormtalon once you get to 1500 pts.

... Blood Angels can't take Stormtalons. Why do so many people forget this? Also Tac squads really? Don't take Tac squads with BA there is no reason to.

Um..... ok, so....

1) would this list as it is be a viable army against other meq?

2) Are the sergeant loadouts useful/reliable in 6th edition?

3) What would you expect the weaknesses of this army to be? Long ranged units (devastators)? What tactics would you use to counter this (deep striking combat squad)?

4) Has anyone used a similar list in 6th edition? How did it go? What didn't go well?

5) If I was to replace one of the assault squads and priest what would be the most reliable support unit? Two predators ac lc?

Wow such a lot of questions there but I think they cover most of what I'm looking for...

I would drop mb on the sgts with the pf. Otherwise, sure, its a decent list unless you're fighting against flyers. Also, it's a list which will require some luck not to fall apart easily. I've got a blood angel army, and it's a difficult one to play. You have few models which are all pretty squishy. One solid hit with a battle cannon and you're a squad down.

At least, this is my experience.

I run an almost exclusive jump army. I have recently added predators, because I needed some heavy support. They are fun, and fast. I'm not a win at all costs kind of Guy, but I have managed about 50% win-loss in about 10 games. I play them much more aggressively than I probably should, but I always try to get the assault, rather than being assaulted. They lose a lot of ground to armies that are mostly shooting at range. Use cover as much as you can and then assault..
