So say a unit that has marker light has chosen to use the marker light (as far as i am aware the marker light is added to a specific model??? pls correct if im wrong)

they then obviously do their shots... BUT does the MODEL that used the marker light also get to fire his weapon (ignoring using seeker missile) so say he was also given a pulse rifle would he be able to fire his marker light and then the whole squad (including the guy that used marker light) be able to fire their guns... i know the rest of the squad would what im basically asking is that "is using a marker light considered as the MODEL firing a weapon..?"

If that is the case then surely the marker light guy would not be able to fire his weapon as a normal infantry model can only fire 1 gun no???

i appolagise if there is already a discussion on this but i looked for hours and could not find any so decided to post lol

i only ask because my brother just got his new tau codex and is as per usual trying to twist things... lmao

let me know guys/gals

All shooting in a squad takes place simultaneously. The Tau Codex specifies the weapon profile of the Markerlight (Range, Special Rules, etc) The Markerlight is used in placed of a regular shooting attack. As such Markerlight hits cannot be used to boost the shooting of the squad that fired the lights. Networked Markerlights are different in this regard, but aren't important to the discussion.

While the marker light is in the support system section of the book, on page 68, it contains a single line that answers your question. As I do not post rules themselves, I can only suggest you go to this page and read this line for your answer. It is easy to find as it is the first sentence if you ignore the section which has been italicized.

Keep in mind; if someone refuses to show you an entry in the codex you are well within your right to refuse to let their interpretation stands. No matter what it is they are trying to do, you have the right to request the equivalent rules at any point and they can not continue till they have convinced you it is a legal move. It is the only way to prevent some people from cheating, sadly....
