If you could post some pictures of your efforts following the tutorial, it would help to make suggestions.

TBH the fact that washed off the ink is odd as GW ink contains varnish that seals the ink.
Without pictures of what you achieved it's really hard to say.
I would recon that the original painter used multiple layers of wash to build up the colour not just one.
How many did you use?

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

I used only one layer of agrax earthshade. I'm not shure about what wash should I use becouse he didn't write anything about it. There was also a problem with green I think - it looked different before washing.

Here is the thing, that model was not painted with washes.
He clearly states how he painted it; base coat of grey/green with an airbrush, shadows with previous mix + black with an airbrush, everything else was done with glazes. Glazes are not washes: they are extremely thin semi-transparent layers of paint used to make subtle transitions to the paint underneath, shifting it in a color direction you want. It is very time consuming to paint that way (each glaze layer painted barely makes a difference and LOTS of layers are needed to finish the effect), but if done properly the finished product cannot be beat.

And some, I assume, are good people."

Is it necessary to use glazes? I would like to paint whole army in this scheme and it would be very very time consuming and difficult to use glazes on every marine.

Is there any different way of painting like this?
