Hey guys.

So, I've been playing an increasing amount of Warmachine lately, and we wanted to start getting some terrain. I'm a big fan of trees on the tabletop, so I went to get my Google groove on.

GOOGLE FTW!

Ah, let me compose myself.... k, anyway, I found this awesome video that I wanted to share with you guys. No, I've played no part in this video what so ever, I'm just the guy that wants to share the knowledge. It's super easy, and super cheap. The wire twisting takes 5-10 minutes (faster as you get going).

Originally intended for model train hobbyists, I like 'em!

Yes, I have done a few (6), but I don't have any putty/filler on hand to make them more tree-like. So I just went lazy route and painted the wire lol. Did an experiment with globbing Liquid Nails on 1 of them (yeah, i know, bad idea), and it turned out OK at best. I'll see what it looks like with a prime coat in a few minutes (24HRS TO DRY! GAH!)

Total Costs!
Wire: $4.95 (100', 20ga, Napa Auto parts) OR ~$3 (250', 26ga, Hobby Lobby).
Putty: Y'all know the prices of GS, milliput, and other fillers already.
Foliage: ~$6/bag (light green/dark green clump foliage; Hobby Lobby)
Grand Total: ~$22 (with higher costs provided, and both foliage colors purchased).

Of course, you can choose the cheaper wire, and only 1 color foliage. AND you may also choose not to putty your wire tree sculptures, which makes the project cheaper still.

I can post pictures of my trees as of now, if you're interested. When I get putty, I'll do them up properly, but as of now they look decent enough for use.

Enjoy.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

I'll add to this.

Hawthorn bushes make great spooky trees or any other trees with a bit of tweaking.

I usually graft a few extra branches on.

Hope that helps somone.

Well crap, now I'm going to need to raid my neighbor's hawthorn bushes. Those look awesome.
