I am brand new to the game and going to build a 1000 point Space Wolves army to start out. I started the army by getting a set of Wolfguard Terminators. I'm curious as to loadouts for these guys. My intention is to run a Grimnar/Rune priest combo HQ and use these guys as support for that squad? (Sorry, still new) I was looking for a proper loadout for the WG Terminators to fulfill this role so that I can build them once and get to painting without having to redo their loadout.

Logan can be a beast, but at 1k points I'd avoid him because you're not going to have enough bodies on the table.
Concerning WG terminators a great way to kit them out is 4 (with an IC) or 5 with combi-weapons. Melta and plasma or flamer. If you're going flamer, a heavy flamer in there will be a nice addition. Give them a mix of power axes and maces and a drop pod. Thy can be a great unit, but if you start giving them CC upgrades like fists and hammers, they're just incredibly over priced to the point that they're useless.
Alternatively, use them as TDAWGs for your GH squads when you pop banner they're nigh unkillable with a rerollable 2+ in a challenge.

Ok, this makes sense. Again I'm new so maybe I'm asking a silly question here, but when you're talking about 4 with and IC. Would that be like using 4 WG Terminators with Logan? Also, I understand the lack of value for Logan in a smaller army, but for now I'm just doing this for fun and I don't care if the army is competitive to start. I quite like the idea of using Logan or another named character for the lore involved.
Going with your squad above, the 4 Terminators and an IC. Could you show me what that would look like loaded out? Thanks for your response as well! So as I'm reading my previous post I realized I completely contradicted myself. I do in fact care if this army is competitive or I wouldn't be asking for the best load out for this squad. What I meant is that I would like to be able to incorporate some sort of named IC into this army because I like having that lore aspect in the army. Sorry to be misleading with that.

Problem is with Logan in a 1000p army you spent a quarter of the points on a single model. That is very expensive. K, he´s really good but he is not compensating a quarter of your army. At 1000 Points I´d just use his model but take him as a regular wolflord or even wolfguard leader and just "pretend" it´s Logan.

Well ok then.
Sure with an IC you can include Logan, but you won't be making the best use of him like that. Logan wing (wolf guard troops) works best when you mix as match terminators and power armour. So a squad would look like this:
Terminator, power axe, combi-melta x2
Terminator, power maul, cyclone ML
Power armor combi-melta x4
This would fit in a drop pod and has great use against multiple targets. You could interchange plasma, assault cannons work well with plasma IMO or flamers and obviously the heavy flamer with them.
If you want just 4 with say a rune priest in a pod the extra PA wolf guard to make them 5 gives you access to a heavy weapon for the squad. Plus, once you've spunked your combi-weapon load, you still have a powerful gun. Also that PA guy can be used as cannon fodder.
If you put Logan with Long Fangs he can make them relentless, when they pop out a drop pod. 5 multimeltas split firing thanks to Logan. He can then break off and join another unit to help with combat.

So after a bit of reading, I would have to order some bits to make this work I believe as the WG terminators didn't come with combi weapons in the box. So I'd be looking at a power axe in one hand a combi melta/bolt gun in the other yes? Also, I'd have to order the cyclone ML to have that around as well. Thanks again for the assistance, any other thoughts?

Combi-weapons can be easily made by chopping off the barrel of the storm bolster and adding a bolter barrel and a melta barrel (which I too from multimetlas in a leman Russ box).

What about something like this?
HQ - Logan Grimnar
Squad 1:
WG Terminator Squad
1x Cyclone Missile
4x Power Axe/SB
Squad 2:
WG Terminator Squad
1x Cyclone Missile
4x Power Axe/SB
Squad 3:
WG Terminator Squad
1x Cyclone Missile
4x Power Axe/SB
Heavy Support:
Long Fang Squad(attached to Logan)
5x ML
I realize we are now out of tactics to a full army list so I apologize for that. But that would give me roughly 1000 point army if I'm doing match correctly, allowing me to run some heavy armor with movable missile firing(11 per round). Attaching Logan to the Long Fangs would allow them to split fire as well.

I'd swap out two of the power axes in each squad for power mauls. You do not need that much AP2 and having some models strike at initiative and wounding most things on a 2+ will help reduce the number of armor saves you will have to make.
I'd also change out three missile launchers in the long fangs unit for either lascannons or multi-meltas. The reason being is you have no answer for AV14 and while it doesn't show up a lot at a 1000 points some people specifically add it into smaller point lists just because there usually isn't as much 9+ strength guns on the table.

I agree with the above poster. Power mauls with give you more potential targets and make te terminators better against some vehicles. However, as they don't have frag grenades, the axes aren't a bad take since many players will be hiding in cover.
Also if you're podding in LFs MLs are garbage. The only reason people take them is because they're cheap and have range. If you're deep striking range isn't an issue so the MM put competes it by far.
I wouldn't put LCs on LFs. Their power isn't worth te insane price hike. Especially if you're podding them. Automatically Appended Next Post: I'd also throw some PA wolf guard in there. Too many terminators can be inefficient.

I didn't see any pods on the list so I just assumed they were walking. Thats why I didn't suggest changing the guns so your guys can have something to shoot as they walk.
If your podding in, I'd spend the point on upgrading two of the guys with PF/LC combos. Now you have the ultimate swiss army knife configuration. And since your close, you don't need as many shooting weapons. However for those you do take, I'd have put in some combi-plasma or combi flamers as you are shooting under 12" and can get a better bang. In that respect, I'd also consider taking out a few cyclones and putting in heavy flamers or assault cannons. A stronger alpha strike for when you initially pod down.
