I'm probably a little premature with this thread, considering I haven't actually decided to whether to build this army over the next couple of months or else concentrate on expanding my CSM army instead. At the moment, I have a squad of Wyches, a Squad of Warriors, two Squads of Trueborn and a single Raider, all unpainted. Expanding this to a 1500 pt list would cost just under 200 quid. That's 200 quid for a whole new army or else £240 quid to expand an existing army with a decent sized Nurgle contingent (enough for a small Nurgle themed army).

Decisions, decisions. I'm kinda hoping the feedback on this thread (assuming there is any) will help make up my mind for me.

Anyway, here's the test miniature:

I wanted to make my DE look vaguely like the Wraith from Stargate Atlantis, hence the pale skin and hair. I originally toyed with the idea of givng the whole army Daemonette heads, but cost is an issue there. My biggest concern at the moment is the vehicles. Do I really want to paint my vehicles Gold? I reckon that would look bloody awful. So any ideas on vehicle schemes would be appreciated.

One other issue with the gold: I kinda rushed this test miniature (it being just a test) and drybrushed the highlights on the gold. Next time, I'll do proper highlights.

*Edited to remove the army list since that really belongs in a separate thread to this one*

Model looks pretty cool from what I can see.

I should think that you wouldn't HAVE to paint the vehicles solid gold. Perhaps silver/gunmetal with a gold trim? or alternating panels? Or black with gold trim, that seems very familiar... maybe Asdrubael's kabal from the 3e codex?

Jealous of anyone starting a new DE army, the new models are just so awesome. I have far too many 3e DE to justify new stuff

Let us know what you come up with, I'm sure there is a way to put gold in your vehicles without making yourself sick.

Thanks Grimdork. I'd forgotten about that colour scheme in the 3rd ed book. I'll need to track down my old copy and take a look.

Gold vehicles don't sound good... I would go with GrimDork's sugestions.

And honestly, dry brushing gold isn't exactly horrible. The test miniature looks very good, gold included and the contrast it provides with the pale skin and hair looks great
