The Black Mace says that at the "end of a phase" in which it caused a wound, everything within a 3" bubble takes a toughness test or suffers a wound with no saves, etc...
Does this mean that you can cause a wound, win the combat, make a consolidate move and then force the toughness tests? This potentially means that you could win a combat and then kill models 9" away in the same assault phase. Seems a little weird, but I can't find anything preventing it.

Perfectly allowable, as conosolidate is prior to the end of the phase.
