Those shields are great I especially liked the traditional grecian pottery style on the decoration it looks a lot like several from the British Museum. I'm of two minds about the head on the Lord though it looks a bit deformed to me but I take it its a bare head with bionics not a helm?

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Stunning! Glad you're back i the saddle g_d, the dakka P&M scene isn't the same without your contributions. The white looks really good with the green and the free hand on the shield is fantastic!

Another great model GD! I like everything except the head... nothing to do with your painting mind you, I just find the sculpt a bit... muddy?
As usual though, your shield freehand is the biggest winner for me, keep em coming!

Thanks guys. I'm really happy with how the shield came out. The rest of the model came together nicely as well. I was hoping the head I chose would come together much nicer than it did. It was indeed a little cludgy of a sculpt, but I am going to stick with it now that it's painted up. I think the rest of the model carries him quite nicely.
For those wanting a little more about this guy, be sure to check out the Reinforcements article on The Painting Corps!

Love it and the latest figure is yet another in a long line of great paintjobs!

GiraffeX, Thanks for the compliment I'm sure there was more that could have been done TO the model, but for the little bit of conversion work I did do, he came out nice and different with only a few hours spent in the modeling phase!
Dante, Thanks bud. I'm really glad the feel I was going for comes through with them. It's 2nd ed color thinking with some hints toward military modeling. As for what is next on the agenda, I'm really not sure! I have a LOT of stuff that could go into the army. It's just finding the thing that catches me next and getting it worked on. Then there are my Random Models

So, did some more work for the Sons the past few days:
Some of the green stuff is still curing though, so no progress with these for at least a day, but likely only get them tweaked/primed over the next two.
Each model has a little something done to it, be sure to view it on the gallery page by clicking the pic and zoom in to see some of the work done

IM, yeah, I noticed those big spots as well after things were all said and done. I'm actually thinking that while I'm touching up the green on the new guys, I'll go back in with some green to cut into those spaces a little and smallify those chips Problem was with the brush I used to get them. Next time I'll be moving back to my foam!

I've messed with LBursleys old washes, and that's the recipe the new Secret Weapon stuff is based on. They're much more suspension than solution, but shaken up properly they're actually quite nice. A little more work than GW's stuff, but with a lot more variety now that misterjustin has had his way with them and added a ton of color variety.
No experience with anything from AK though. I should see if I can't get some of their stuff, I've heard Mig Jimenez talk about the company before on his blog. So they have to have some good stuff Automatically Appended Next Post: Thanks Cypher, I wish I was doing more painting than I have been though! Both in the mini's world and in my traditional painting world! I should be doing a lot more of everything to be honest...

We all do the best we can. I find its important not to push too much, or painting gets to be a burden more than an enjoyment. Paces rise and fall, but as long as you're getting stuff done that you're happy with that's all that matters.

Army Photoshoot! I headed up to the Bowie Bunker today to hang out with some folks and pass a few hours. While I was there I used one of the tables to take some shots of the army as it stands these days. There are more still in my Sons of Medusa Gallery for those of you who are interested! Still so much to go! But the army is finally at a point to be proud of
