I am looking to compliment my mainly Jump Assault List. Vanguards are a decent choice, but I was curious about adding bikers. Tougher than Jump Infantry, just as fast, able to attach Priests and Attack bikes. My question I guess is, should I run bikes, just assault bikes, or a mix with small squads meltas and MM bikes. I have access to speeders as well but are they as good as a squad of bikes?

MM attack bikes backed up by a biker priest. Accept no substitutes. These guys are more efficacious than any Baal configuration and often more resilient. And they can assault if need be.

My hybrid mech list even uses the regular bikers just because they can be so annoying. Plus, relentless plasma is rarely bad.

So 3 attack bikes with MM, a priest on bike does he need upgrades? Or 2 pairs of 2 bikes and 2 priests. I can field 4 attack bikes..

If you do use all 4 bikes, one priest is enough to cover. It'll be a piece of pie keeping him within 6" of both.

Have a plan for the units and arm them to suit. MM Attack Bikes are fantastic at taking out vehicles thanks to being able to get up close and personal and avoid granting cover saves from LOS as a result.
You can run an Attack Bike squadron, or attach to a normal Biker squad that has a meltagun besides.

On the flipside, the units can be really good at anti-infantry - I've just put some together which contains a flamer, combi-flamer on the Sergeant and heavy bolter Attack Bike. Needless to say that all adds up on top of Relentless bolters...

I'm thinking..

Sanguinary Priest, Bike, Combi-melta, Power Weapon
3 MM bikes,
5 bikes, Combi plasma/PW and 2 Plasmaguns
5 bikes, Combi-flamer/PW, 2 flamers and a HB attack bike. The priest would attach to the MM bikes, trying to keep the bikers in his bubble..

625 points that does about everything.. would compliment my Jump Infantry and keep fire focused away from them. Any thoughts?

I like it. I'd drop the power weapons though, they seem to be rather superfluous for units that don't want to be bogged down in assault. They need to be zipping about shooting.
Bikers tend to do better when they only assault units that are already very weak, and thus the power weapons are overkill.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

I like it too, but I would keep the power weapon on the Priest just in case he winds up getting challenged.

Ideally you want him in one of the other units anyway, both because 3 MM's is enough for anything, and because the Sergeant can then risk challenges on the Priest's behalf. So consider giving him a combiflamer instead...I'm hesitant to suggest giving him plasma what with Gets Hot...
