Sitting in my home, thinking about a game this week. I'm gonna play 1000p of BA against my friend's Daemons.

So here's the deal: almost all of his units are for CC and his playing style is aggressive, so is there any sense for me to run across the table when I know he'll come for me.
Would be much easier to take cover and lay back with Tacticals/Sternguard and maybe some shooty Termies for counter-attacking or Assault Marines to strike in his back.

So are Tacticals dead for BA? Is there hope in outshooting the enemy?

Any thoughts appreciated.

This is a shooty type list I use around 1850. Yes, BA can be configured to shoot passably. As a TAC strategy, it might be better than assault because of 6th edition. Plus, we are good at running away. But against Tau, IG and Eldar these lists have little hope, imo

My list with sternguard is actually a drop pod/jumper hybrid list. It has a tactical in a drop pod instead of DC for scoring purposes. Currently, I have 0 lists with DC, even my LR/Mephiston list. The ASMs get LR discounts and score.
