I am going to NJ for a tournament in the next two weeks, and I want to make sure I've got my list ready to go. Any thoughts on the following?

It's 1850, unique missions, and Forgeworld is allowed. Here's what I'm thinking about rolling with atm.

Battlesuit Commander w/twin missile pods, Iridium, Neuroweb, Targetlock, and 2 ML drones. (Attach him to the ML Drone squad)

Ethereal

2 Riptides w/ Ion Cannon, Interceptor and Skyfire each. Also have 1 as TLFusion and the other as TLPlasma.

4 Squads of 9 FW

1 Squad of 20 Kroot w/ Sniper Rounds and 1 Hound.

2 Squads of 2 Tetras. 1 TL and 2 sensor spines each so they have +1 cover save, jink, and can move freely around terrain for potentially better cover and for hiding.

1 Squad of 5 ML Drones. Gives this squad w/ the commander BS 5, and 7 ML shots for an average 6 hits on a target per turn from this unit.

1 Skyray w/ Disruption and Sensor Spines (no need to move and jink, just plant it in appropriate cover to start off and enjoy +1 to whatever that cover is)

2 Hammerheads w/ Railguns, Disruption Pods, Submunitions, and Blacksun Filters.

1 ADL w/ Quad Cannon

Thoughts? Weaknesses? I have commander R'myr, 3 XV-9 TL dual Burst Cannon models, and some other fun toys. could field stealth suits, or potentially one squad of 2-3 suits in the elite section. There's still some space for additions/changes here. Thinking I'd park the commander at the quadgun and allow the drones to jump forward and then back over the ADL for some additional range on their MLs as needed, and depending on the enemy either bubble wrap the gun line with kroot or outflank for (hopefully) later game objective grabbing.

Potential changes could be removing one FW squad to bring the other squads up to a full 12 size. Or using the points for an additional crisis suit team in elites. Also I could merge the two Tetra squadrons into a single squadron to open up a Fast Attack slot for a Pathfinder squad. Commander R'myr is an attractive swap for the Commander to get the same basic purpose, but he is about the same price, loses the Iridium Armor, and is Plasma Rifles instead of Missile Pods.. On the plus side I'd get a guaranteed Warlord Trait with the reroll 1's around the warlord for one shooting phase, a nice one to have.

Could also reclaim 10 pts quickly by dropping the target locks on the tetras since they're only 2 MLs each now. Always want 4mls on a target anyway generally.

Target locks don't exist anymore. The new Taros book removes them and has Tetras buying vehiclewargear from the codex. It looks good but I would definitely get some pathfinders in there to support your castle in Overwatch.

I think 2x Hammer heads may be overkill consider dropping 1 for 2 broadsides with HYMP

Not sure I would go with Pathfinders, they are just so darn squishy and you already have a high amount of accurate markerlights.
IMHO, both your Riptides should only be kitted out with those upgrades if you are sure you are going to see flyer spam 2/3's of the time. Your commander on the Quadgun should have a decent chance of downing a flyer when it comes on and the Skyray can handle anything else. Maybe consider dropping the VT's, that way you can still roast Termies when they deep strike and have quite a few points for more pulse rifles or a second Kroot squad.
Plus I think Stims are just the bees knees on Riptides.

Otherwise, I like it. I personally take crisis suits over Riptides, but that is just me. You should have a fun go of it. Good Luck!

I appreciate the feedback guys! The HYMPs sound great, but I don't have the models. Probably won't until the fall if we end up doing any grand/finals tournaments. And I initially wanted to do a second Skyray (for either AA or for one helluva alpha strike via missiles) but didn't have a second top.

I could drop the 2 TLs, and the second railhead, giving me a total of 150 points.. There are also 30 points to free up from the commander if we think that he should just camp the gun and use it every round (and eat being unable to shoot if he intercepts the prior round) instead of having the 2 missile pods.

If I keep in the second tank that leaves me with.. 10 points from the target locks. I'm waiting on the second edition taros book to know if the Disruption Pod still comes with the Tetras because that would cost me 40points immediately (bummer!) Anywhere else to cut/shift? Also do you guys think I should have the 4 small(er) FW groups, or drop one and bring the other three up to 12. OR drop the 4th group and reinvest the points from the 4th group elsewhere.

There is another problem with missile drones as per the FAQ on the GW website they can only be taken by models equiped with broadside suits. perhaps I am not understanding this correctly but I don't beleive you can take ML drones anymore unless they are with broadsides.

The list looks pretty good - If you could find the points it would be good to put Longstrike on one of the Railheads. The investment is really worth it.

Remove velocity trackers from your Riptides, if they're magnetized give one a HBC and one an Ion, give both stim. This will make them an insanely durable unit that your opponent will have a hard time ignoring.

Give your commander a PEN. If you happen to run into some fellow running flier spam he can give himself Monster/Tank hunter and blast them out of the sky with your ADL. This will also make him so much fun to put with your Riptides as a unit. If you go this route also consider giving him a command and control node. BS5 re roll MLs, monster hunting tank hunting re rolling rip tides, hells yeah.

You don't need the extra drone in the ML drone squad, cut it down to the bare bones 4. 6 ML shots at BS5 and a Skyray should do you fine.

As said before missilesides would be very good, but you gotta play what you've got.

To scrape together points I'd skimp down on your Kroot, cut a drone, and maybe even do away with the weapons on your commander.

I like the idea of dropping the single ML drone and potentially cutting down on the kroot for points.

As for the Riptides, what do you think about leaving one as is, and removing the Velocity Tracker on the second and giving him the Stim+HBC? Stim seems so much more important to that Riptide, and I'm worried that a single ADL and single skyray won't be enough if I get faced against a concerted air army, 2+ drakes that sort of thing with comms relay support. Could become hard to knock out those things in time to stop them before they neuter my ground army.

Anyone else have thoughts on removing the missile pods from the commander and just leave him on the quad gun all game?
