After ready through chunks of the new apocalypse book i up for playing a few games, but as im predominantly a SoB player im not feeling the love on the formation front. So as it says in the book, ive had a go at putting a few of them together myself. One of the below is based on an existing 1st ed Apocalypse formation (The Repentent Host) but with a bit of an update.

Let me know what you think, are any over-powered or under-powered. Ive tried to keep to similar levels of special rules as other formations in the apoc book. Im planning on play-testing a couple of these at some point in the near future as well.

Suffer the Witch not to Live

Formation Type: Battle Formation
Units:
- 3 x Ecclesiarchy Confessor + Battle Conclave
- Uriah Jacobus + Battle Conclave
- Arch Confessor Kyrinov + Battle Conclave
- 5 x Ecclesiarchy Priests
Formation Restrictions:
- Battle Conclave's must be composed of at least 5 models
- Each Priest must be attached to a different battle conclave
Special Rules:
The Emperor Protects:
- All models within the formation have 3+ deny the witch
Righteous Fury:
- All models within the formation gain Fleet and Furious Charge


Burn the Heretic

Formation Type: Armoured Spearhead
Units:
- 3-5 Retributor Units in dedicated transport Repressors or Immolators
Formation Restrictions:
- Retributor squads must be equipped with 4 x heavy flamers per unit. If mounted in Immolators the retributors must number 6 or less models
Special Rules:
Flaming Death:
- When in Arrowhead formation and the units have only moved at cruising speed in the movement phase, all units in the formation may forgo their shooting attacks to fire a single weapon with the profile below measured from the turrent mounted weapon of the tank at the tip of the arrowhead formation. Retributor units must be embarked within the tanks when this shot is fired.

Light from the Heavens

Formation Type: Battle Formation
Units:
- Saint Celestine
- 3-5 units of Seraphim
Formation Restrictions:
- All units must enter from reserve via deepstrike
Special Rules:
Descending Angels:
- All units scatter 1d6 inches less than they would normally
The Emperors Illumination:
-When appearing from deepstrike all enemy units within 12” of any part of the formation are affected by the Blind special rule

The Order Goes Forth

Formation Type: Battle Formation
Units:
- Canoness
- Sororitas Command Squad
- 4 Battle Sister Squads
- 3 Retributor Squads
- 3 Dominion Squads
Formation Restrictions:
- All squads must have a dedicated transport vehicle, either a rhino or repressor.
- The Sororitas Command Squad and Canoness must have a dedicated immolator
- All squads except the Sororitas Command Squad must have 10 models.
Special Rules:
Unshakeable fervour:
- All models in the formation have the Stubborn special rule when within 12” of a Strategic objective
Faith in the Emperor:
- The formation generates 3d6 faith points per turn instead of d6
The Emperor Protects:
- All models in the formation have a +1 bonus to their shield of faith rolls


Repentant Host

Formation Type: Battle Formation
Units:
- Canoness
- 3-5 Sister Repentia Squads
- 3+ Penitent Engines
Formation Restrictions:
- Sister Repentia squads must be 10 models
Special Rules:
Only in death does duty end:
- All models in the formation have a +1 bonus to both their shield of faith and Feel no Pain rolls
Reverent Passion:
- If the canoness successfully activates her act of faith then any units within 12” of her gain the effects of the Passion act of faith (+1I and preferred enemy)

Celestial Host:

3-10 St. Celestian Living Saints

Hmmm not exactly what I was looking for.... I think using a formation that has 3-10 copies of a unique special character would be a little bit silly.

Symphony of the faithful

3-5 exorcists

Adds 1d6 to faith while on the table.
The exorcists can forgo their normal shooting to fire an apoc barrage blast with X being the number of tanks participating.
