I recently picked up a Fire Elemental Lord from Forgeworld. It's a wonderful model and I was really looking forward to painting it. I assembled it, primed it and sat down to paint.

I go the skin, the fire and smoke effects and then I began on the swirling cloak. That's when I found spots where the primer had missed.

The resin won't hold paint at all and I'm really not looking foward to restripping it to prime again. The cloak has bonded rather firmly to the main body and I'm hesitent to go tugging at it anymore for fear of something breaking off.

Anyone been stuck in this situation before? Advice? Suggestions?

Thanks!

You could use a brush on primer, or alternatively give it a quick blast with a lacquer based varnish.

Did you wash the model before you assembled/primed it?

The release agent that most companies use for resin models is very often the cause of primer not sticking to the models.

If you had not washed it before, give it a gentle wash in warm water with dish soap.

You could use a brush on primer as mentioned before, or cover up the rest of the miniature and respray the cloak with primer (if possible)
