Hey guys, I was an avid player of Chaos Space Marines in 5th Edition, but the army has taken a backseat to some of my newer forces since the start of 6th edition, I've always loved how Chaos Look and feel on the table, and decided to make a list to use in my local meta and some minor tourneys at my FLGS (Semi Competitive). I am new to the 6th Edition Chaos Codex, this is my first list and any feedback would greatly help me understand how I want this to work. The theme is Mechanised, as I have always been a fan of metal bawkses, so I would appreciate feedback to be centered around a mechanised list, rather than going footslogging.
HQ:
Sorcerer 172
Mastery Lvl 3, Biomancy, Terminator Armour, Combi Melta, Force Weapon, Spell Familiar, Gift Of Mutation, Meltabombs
Troops:
10 Chaos Space Marines 205
2x Plasma Guns, Rhino
10 Chaos Space Marines 205
2x Plasma Guns, Rhino
20 Chaos Cultists 118
18x Autoguns, 2x Heavy Stubber
20 Chaos Cultists 118

Elites:
4 Terminators 424
3x Two Lightning Claws, Sergeant W/Combi Melta and Chainfist, Mark Of Tzeentch, Chaos Land Raider W/Dirge Caster
Fast Attack:
Heldrake 170
Baleflamer
Heavy Support:
Vindicator 120
Vindicator 120
5 Havocs 115
4 Autocannons
Fortifications:
Aegis Defence Line 100
Quad Gun
1842/1850
Cheers

Looks like a solid list. But one minor thing, you have to have MoN to take blight grenades. Also, you might have better luck with them, but vindicators never seem to earn their points for me. Dakka preds or more havocs is What I would recommend.

Ah, thanks for that one, Was in a rush after trying to fill in spare points Have 8 pts left over now. I'm going to give Vindis a test run and if they don't work out then I will probably go with what you said and take more havocs, but they are also there to provide additional armour threats to take firepower away from the LR or Rhinos, so I guess the preds may be my best option overall, unless I took something like a Maulerfiend (But are they any good?)

Maulerfiends are fantastic anti-armour, with the magma cutters.
They are rubbish vs infantry, though, as they haven't the attacks to deal with them and the lash tentacles just serve to remove attacks from models that already can't get through the armour, leaving officers free to PF the mauler to pieces.
Sorc goes with Termies, I assume?
Extra 8 points is one more cultist to each pile, free bodies to soak up first wound taken in front.

Thanks for the comments, I guess i'll keep the vindicators then as I'm looking to get within 24" anyway and put pressure on.
I wasn't too sure about my HQ choice, I was thinking a sorcerer would be good but I was also leaning towards a Chaos Lord (Khorne or Nurgle) with a retinue of the appropriate mark, which do you think works out better? This may also influence the amount of points left over, and if i do end up keeping my sorcerer do you think mastery lvl 3 is worth it?
