Blood Sacrifice to Khorne

North Carolina

This is a match of 1500 (total of 3000pts each side).

I am the CSM and my strategy for this match is to utilize the mass horde of the Nids to occupy the field while I get great shots in. This list is purely made with a 'support the bugs and let them be the ones slaughtered' idea. Please, constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!

Daemon Prince (275)
-Nurgle, Black Mace, Gift of Mutation, Wings, Power Armour

10x CSM (195)
-Nurgle -Icon of Vengeance

10x CSM (195)
-Nurgle -Icon of Vengeance

2x Heldrakes (340)
-Baleflamer

5x Havocs (130)
-Nurgle -4 Autocannons

5x Havocs (130)
-Nurgle -4 Autocannons

5x Havocs (130)
-Nurgle -4 Autocannons

Aegis Defense Line w/ Quad Cannon (100)

Total of 1495pts

The idea is to slowly footslog a squad of fearless CSM behind my teammates bugs and leave a squad behind the defense line to man the quad and to catch those pesky eldar bouncers. The havocs are going to try to assist the quadgun to eliminate any fliers coming in, the vanilla space marines have a flying circus.....). My DP will eliminate those first turn drop pod walkers that come to my side. Then of course as the game progresses, my heldrakes when do exactly what they're made to do...burn all the things.

Please let me know what you all think. I'm about 4 months into WH40K and my wins are as follows 9W4L singles and 4W0L for duos with my bud. We constantly have to change our lists because everyone changes theirs to suit our previous matches.

Fearless CSM are great, when you've got enough bodies to hide the standard. I recognize they'll be hiding behind the 'nids and therefore less of a fire priority, but what are they really accomplishing? You'll be getting in bolter fire on their flyers or bikes as they zoom all over, but won't get to fire on much else because it'll either be too far away or in CC with the 'nids you're hiding behind.
To my eyes they don't look like they have a purpose in the list.

The Twilight Zone

Agreed about the icons being a bit much for fearless. You could get VOTLW for cheaper, boosting your LD and giving you space marine hate. This is also less reliant on a single icon to hold on the board. This would give you points to buy special weapons or something. If you plan to camp, an autocannon or missile launcher would be a good choice. If you take autocannons, buy your deamon a combat familiar or something. If you just need to kill 5 points, ichor blood on your lord is not terrible as he should be in CC anyways.
