Herald of Nurgle w/ FNP
20 Plaguebearers

Defense line w/ quadgun

I just played this in a local tournament and did very well. Last game was for 2nd place and a lost due to the craziest, most random scatter that managed to take me off an objective.

Very straight forward list. Herald mans the quadgun with squad behind the line getting 2+ cover. I feel like I want to dump the rhinos because they just give up kill points/first blood, but I'm not sure what to do with the extra points or even if that's a good idea. I also would not be opposed to losing some plaguebearers if I need to squeeze a few points in.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Personaly I wouldnt go for the Forgefiends, but that may just be because ive never had sucess with them, and Winged Daemon Princes are Beast, maybe replace the sorcerer for one? Apart from that this is a great list

The forgefiends bring some much needed Str 8 hits (1 shot a doom that was trying to eat my dudes... stupid nid). They work great in addition to soaking up a lot of fire. I usually sit them behind the defense line to give the 4+ cover and it's worked out. Sorry to hear you haven't had success with them, they've done well for me. I've been thinking about using a Tzeentch herald with prescience to give at least one of them rerolls to make up for their terrible BS.

Are the winged princes really that good? The CSM ones look so awful on paper. They're so pricey i'd be forced to dump a forgefiend too. Anyone else seen the princes do well? I know about the C winged slanesh one that people love.

Also, anyone have an opinion on the rhinos?

Keep the forgefiends, for sure.
Prescience would be solid but wouldn't that kinda mess with the whole plaguebearer campsite?
I've played Winged Tzeentch DP on numerous occasions and in my experience they can be relied upon to fist a single unit, sweeping advance them, then get shot to pieces once the fear has settled in and they're in the open again. Thoughts on that are to play Nurgle DP, where no sweeping advance means you're still in combat on their turn. Either way, you need to pay for Armour, Wings, and one of the Daemon Weapons.

As for the rhinos, they're just a delivery system. Look at their cargoes; what will the CSM be able to accomplish minus the wheels? If you're satisfied with the answer, then ditch the rhinos and toss in a couple extra bodies. If not, keep 'em and use the speed to work around that first blood point. I usually deploy with rhinos, and at least one reliably manages to sneak in for linebreaker once it has disgorged its payload.
