I need a case to hold all my necron pieces. I have a lot of the large pieces and even more small pieces. also room for expansion of my army would be great.

Take a look at Battlefoam cases. They make a wide variety of cases with varying sizes of foam inserts that can be plucked or cut into shape. They have a hard plastic shell, but they're much lighter than your standard GW case.

Battlefoam and KR Multicase, amongst others, offer huge cases.
KR offer a 'send us your stock' service, and they'll tell you which trays you need. You'll then have an idea how many cases they'll take up, and you choose from there. Knowing how much foam you need is the first but, and case type is up to you.

You're going to want one or two large Battle Foam bags. Otherwise you're going to look at over 10 feet of foam trays and several bags for other companies because their tray lay outs are not as compact.

haha i use 2x 1520xl and a pack max SO FAR.... got the gamers edition for when i get my other superheavies ready to go... otherwise look into a wooden trunk cos the average bag wont be enough when its only one bag.

KR Multicase is my go-to, since their product is lovely and their customer service/public image are both solid. If you send them an email with what you've got, they'll actually tell you exactly what you need to buy from them.

Considering how much you have, it sounds like you would need multiple cases as is. I know a Necron player that has one of the largest Battlefoam bags, and it fits about 2.5k of Necrons, not including super-heavies. Most standard infantry trays fit about 27-30 models. Just with your infantry, you're looking at a lot of space.
