So, here is my 1000pts of wood elves, which are currently at 3/3/0 (W/L/D)
Noble
Hail of doom arrow
Noble
Annoyance of netlings
10 Glade guard
Musician
banner
10 Glade guard
Musician
Banner
10 Glade guard
Musician
Banner
10 Glade guard
Musician
Banner
5 Waywatchers
5 Waywatchers
The total comes to 997pts. So far the list has won as many as it has lost, and only lost one game due to a comet of casandora going off turn two during a three way game, and annihilating almost everything in my deployment area. What do you guys think of it, and what could I use that would be better?

What is the purpose of the second noble? If you get rid of the second noble and the banners, that will leave you 151 point that can turn into another unit of glade guard.

I had some spare points and decided a noble would fit the bill, and I've been told that having both musician and banner are good for 10 man units of glade guard, don't know why, but he plays wood elves in tournaments.

''A Noble would fit the bill'' isn't a great way to look at it. What can he do? He has challenge equipment but no weapon to make him good in it (see Great weapon) and if he is shooting its a very expensive single arrow. With those points you could have 2 eagles ( well, you couldn't as well as waywatchers) or a unit of 8 dryads to screen/road block for glade guard. You could put a 6th man into waywatcher units am have a psychological 'definite' lethal shot as well as having banner of eternal flame in a guard unit. 100 pts is a lot of points to be spending on nothing in a 1000pt army.

I see what you mean. Unfortunately I've not had much luck with dryads in game. I do have a second list which also worked, was exactly the same but the second noble was a wardancer noble, and the 10 waywatchers were replaced with ten wardancers with a bladesinger. Would that be a better choice for a 1000pt list??

Waywatcher list. I just love them. If you move right ( Out of enemies forward ark) they its almost pointless shooting at them if your human (BS3 hits on 4's, -1 for moving,-1 for skirmish, - 1 for waywatchers, so 6's followed by 4's). If you don't like dryads then go for the bulking out of the waywatchers to units of 6 and also putting nanner of eternal flame into a guard squad.

Okay...so 12 waywatchers in total, and a magic banner in the glade guard...
Just how commepative would you say the list would be in 1000pts? I'm currently second in a tournament at my local games club

About as competitive as it gets at this point level. Love some Wood Elves but we do struggle a bit.

Unfortunately I'm going to end up facing a bret trebouchet list, and that thing hurts. Hopefully my waywatchers can scout close enough to take em out quick, but he knows about that tactic...

lol, what do you mean unfortunately? Bretonnians are very beatable for you. You should be saying something along the lines of "Thank god I'm not playing against a Skaven Horde, and all I have to do is deal with a Warmachine that I am not presenting with optimal targets!" Note that your list isn't super weak to Trebuchets when we consider that Trebuchets are really meant for targeting large blocks of infantry, which you do not have. Its the Knights and Pegs that you need to watch out for. But with good use of redirecting, you should be able to outmaneuver him with MSU, and blast into his side with s4 arrows. Try not to get fixated on the Trebuchet. Its not great against you in the first place, and you might put yourself in bad situations if you get tunnel vision on it. Don't foget about his combat units which are honestly a bigger threat to you than the Treb will ever be.

Careful, war machines have a 360'' sight arc, so you can't waywatcher yourself within 12 inches. But in this match, the war machines shouldn't be your target. Remember bretonians have a few MANDATORY units. They have to take a knight of the realm unit and they have to take a paladin BSB. These will eat up points. He will most likely have a unit of 9 KotR in there spear formation, with the BSB in that. Or it will be a unit of 6 and the BSB will be in a big unit of peasants. Either can be used to your advantage.
The real crux point of his army is his leadership, having no leadership higher then 8. So that means if you wipe there bsb of the bored then his entire army is apt to flee on there measly leadership of 5. He tries to get around this using bsb's re-rolls so what you do is hit any unit outside of his little 12 inch bubble. If he is on a horse with the knights then he is likely to leave his peasants outside his bubble, hit them. So the plan is to make the war machines take a panic test, if they fail they can't fire. Just make sure to pre measure which units are in the bubble!

The mandatory Kotr is debateable and in this case the games club organiser has decided the intent behind the errata stating that "the 1+ on Kotr is removed" is enough that bretonnian players don't have to field a unit of them.
Also unfortunately our meta-game is pretty weak with me and lazzurus the only two who go out of our way to play regularly. That being said here is likely to be a large selection of opponents as one of the committee members running it has 3-4 10k+ armies.

May your chest inspire the hopes and dreams of millions.
May your arm girth frighten the elderly, slow moving adults and very small children.
May your gains be plentiful.
Go forth and LIFT.

Also Brentyboi here doesn't use knights all that often, at the moment he likes to use a large block of peasants, and a couple of units of archers, all mixed together with a big helping of pegasi and flying rocks.
I suppose it all depends on which list I face, and how I play my list. Cheers for the tips guys.

A single enemy mage is a huge threat for you, considering you put a lot of points into those waywatchers. I'd drop the 2nd noble and bring a scroll carrier if you can.

Hany, but not necessary. A Damsel of the lady only has access to live and beast, like us. These don't have the best magic missiles with the beast one being 2d6 strength 2 hits and lives being d6 strength 4 hits I think. Neither is a signature so neither is assured. boys before toys, you need the extra bodies.
