After stalking Dakkadakka for a year or so, I recently decided to join the big wagon of 40K to keep myself more aware of the community's whereabouts and thoughts on the subject.
I've been playing 40K on the table a year already, and eagerly waiting for the new 6th Ed Codex: Space Marines (man, I truly wish GW will give me a reason to put a Vindicator/Vene Dread/Whirwind to my lists).
My tabletop gaming started rather tough. After a taking a constant beating with Black Templars (yes, THAT'S what I started with, and we're talking of 6th Ed!), I said "screw this, I'm going Vanilla", and the going got slightly better. The Nerons' "croissant army of doom" and the Death Company blob in a Stormraven is still too much for me, but when we're outside all the cheese, I've actually managed to win a few matches. I am those kind of types who try to balance between the fluffy and crunchy side of the gaming world. Both are vital for me. I try to learn after every match I play, and bring my own ideas between the old ones.
What comes to painting and modeling - it's a true mixed bag. I sculpt, convert, scratchbuild when possible, and paint. Working with the little men truly kills time.
I might add some pictures of my Astartes to the site, should I get the chance to snatch my mate's camera. Heck, I may even write some fluff or representation of them, in case someone's about to create a similar colour scheme, or use their name.
I am open to discuss about almost anything. I only wish that the Golden Rule works around here.
*handshake*
Ave Imperator!
