What is the ork warboss pictured here (Assault on Black Reach) equipped with for guns. Is that a shoota or is it a duel linked shoota? And can I use it as either of my choice?

If so, could the same be said for this warboss as well? Cause in the codex it says under one of the pictures "Warboss with big choppa and duel linked shoota"

I want to make a warboss with a bosspole, a shoota, and a heavy choppa.

Both appear to be twin-linked shoota's, although I wouldn't have any problem with you using it as a single shoota (depends how heavy on the WYSIWYG your group is).

Otherwise, it should be fairly easy to convert either model to swap the twin for a standard shoota (most Ork players have a few spare?).

Both are TL Shootas. But being Orks you can always say it's a fancy shoota. Usually in the 40k universe... 2 barrels make a TL weapon.

Where can I find a shoota that is the right size? As the shootas on boyz are too small.

If he has one of those twin-linked shootas and you call it a regular shoota (it's only a 5 point difference, honestly) I don't think anyone will argue or care. It looks Orky, and it's a gun. Have fun with it. Even then, WYSIWYG isn't really a rule anymore, so you shouldn't have any issues.

At least the AOBR booklet didn't list the shoota as twin-linked. That said, I just glued a gas tank to it, painted the bottom barrel in tin bitz color and called it a combi-skorcha. No two ork weapons look the same, and I doubt any game is ever going to change because someone thought hat your ork boss had a TL shoota when it didn't. Just leave it as it is.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.
