Looking for epic music to play in the background during a large 5k-per-side all day game some friends and myself are planning.
I'm looking for general battle music, and some pieces that are more specific to the armies fighting on the table. There will be Space Wolves, Dark Eldar, Grey Knights, Word Bearer CSMs, and Khornate Daemons. I figure I can use select tunes from the Skyrim soundtrack for the Wolves...and then I kind of hit a wall...
What can I use for Dark Eldar, Grey Kights, and Chaos?
The general music I'm looking at are pieces by Two Steps From Hell, some movie themes, and zone music from select areas of World of Warcraft.
Any other ideas?
I want things that are epic!
Daemons--5000
Death Guard --2000
Daemons--15000
Word Bearers--10000
Okay mate, so if this is a 10k game, all day, with music. You are going to need a LOT of music or at least enough music for half/quarter of the event so it loops, but not too nauseously.
Try the entire Lord of the Rings soundtrack, that is a good hour or two. And depending on the armies, is perfect.
Grey Knights= Gondor track
Dark Eldar=Mordor music or stuff like Shelob's music
Khorne=Isengard
Space Wolves=Rohan Track?
Word Bearers=Moria track
And that is not all you play.
Play things like the theme music from old war movies or games like Medal of Honor. (Notably the theme of MoH: Frontline) This will be generic fighting music of war.
Example of videogame:

Example of War Movie (Flyboys, plenty of amazing songs on here for war or even getting ready for the game):
Spoiler:
Pre-game like deployment, assembling players, what have you
Combat, great for climax
And more,
The Last of the Mohicans is a nice one too, here is one of many great stirring battle songs from the movie:
Spoiler:
Then you can throw in the StarWars, Doctor Who, and Firefly soundtracks for added geekocity
Hopefully these examples spur some thought into the creation of your soundtrack. If you need additional help, post it up here or pm me.

Seconding this. Pick up all 4(?) of their albums and do a raqndom shuffle. there will always be an epic bit of music at any point in time.
Having said that, are you sure you want music at all? With 5 players and a lot of stuff to move and discuss you might find music making it hard to talk and getting in the way. alternatively if the volume is low enough to hear yourself think, then you probably can't hear it over your chatting and the rattling of dice.
Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
But there's seriously loads of underrated movie soundtracks which are pretty epic and go unnoticed, I won't post the links as they would make this post HUGE. but make sure you check them out. Even if the movies sucked the soundtracks can be awesome:
Try searching for:
Skyline - "the cavalry"
Independence day - "evacuation" & "The day we fight back"
Armageddon - "The Evacuation"
Chronicles of Narnia L,W&W: "The Battle" and "The Blitz 1940"
Avatar - "The battle"
Judge Dredd - "Block War"
Oh and given your initial link, it has a similar beat to the Van Hellsing soundtrack "Transylvania 1887" and other tracks from the same film (because it has the same composer Alan Silverestri who also composed some of the above too.)
On a final Note almost anything by X ray dog.
Start with this:
I would throw in some music from Halo video games that stuff gets so epic!
I can't think of much else but I love when your rolling in a scorpion in Halo: Combat Evolved and blowing grunts and jackals all over the place so awesome!
Sounds something like this:
Dun dun dundaaah Dun dun dundaaah Dun dun dunDAAAAAAAH dundundunduuuuuuuuun
Alright it sounds better than the words describe but whatever haha
I agree! This would have been my go to awesome battle music! I always want this playing when anyone is facing my nids. It would be especially awesome if it was IG vs Nids in Apocalypse!

But I would agree with whomever said LOTR music! That stuff is awesome
Note to the reader: my username is not arrogance. No, my name is taken from the most excellent of commanders: Lord Castellan Creed, of the Imperial Guar- I mean Astra Militarum - who has a special rule known only as "Tactical Genius"... Although nowhere near as awesome as before, it now allows some cool stuff for the Guar- Astra Militarum - player. FEAR ME AND MY TWO WARLORD TRAITS.
