I think I have been cheated here having access only to walkers. How do riptides, wraithknights, dreadknights etc differ from dreadnoughts besides being many times more resilient? I would much rather drop pod a wraithknight than a dreadnought. S8 vs T8 is only a slightly worse than S8 vs AV12 in terms of wounding, but you get to save the wound. I would have T8 W6 over AV13 any time of the day..

Whoa, that helped, I feel much better already.

Besides from what seems to be a vent thread,

la difference is the fact that the knights and tides are piloted suit with arms vs actual "walkers" and walking sarcophagus.

it seems geedubs are trying to add more MC types in as new books keep coming so one day.

Only "real" walkers are war walkers and sentinels. Pretty much all other walkers are big "suits".

I personally find mc walkers to be bit silly. Kinda like wanting represent a model with a motorcycle with cavalry rules.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

Yeah the difference is staggering, and walkers are now perhaps one of the most overpriced units for their survivability in the game.

Dreadnoughts can dish out some great firepower but are destroyed very quickly. For the same points you could have a squad of scoring units that last longer.

Simple answer really.

Money

Walkers suck badly right now and rather revamp their ruins entirely theyre making new units that should be a walker an mc so it sells, and it works.
Wouldnt doubt it if theres an oversized dreadnaught soon that counts as an mc for no reason

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

I would not bet on that happening, as we already have DA.

It does feel somewhat unfair, but I will continue drop podding a suicide dread on my first turn (except against Tau and Eldar).
