Dear Internet, I need your help once again with my nascent Eldar Army. I've played plenty of DE, but I'm ready to give their straight edge cousins a go. Any feedback on the army list is welcome as well as ideas on how to mix and match other units into the mix. I own an Autarch, a big handful of Warlocks, a Wraithlord and Falcon/FirePrism as well, but wasn't sure how/what to include in this list. Expect to see them in the 1500 point version coming soon.

HQ
1 Farseer - 100

Elites
6 Harlequins, 5 with Harlequin's Kiss, 1 Shadowseer - 158

Troops
5 Dire Avengers, 1 Exarch, All with Avenger Shuriken Catapults - 75
5 Rangers - 60
3 Windrider Jetbike Squad with Shuriken Cannon upgrade - 61
10 Defender Guardians with Starcannon Heavy Weapons Platform - 110

Fast Attack
5 Warp Spiders 1 Exarch with Powerblades, Fast Shot and Marksman's Eye - 145
2 Viper Squad with Eldar Missile Launchers + Shuriken Cannon Upgrades - 150

Heavy Support
3 Dark Reapers, 2 with Starshot Missiles, Exarch w/ Starshot Missiles, Fast Shot, Marksman's Eye 146

Thanks for reading. Happy Hunting.

Well theirs a lot of things I would prersobally change, like for instance dropping the dire avengers to free up points, (5 man is to squishy) also dropping harlies should be enough for prism, they are really nice, and you are lacking av 14 pen. Drop missiles on vipers for BLs or Scater lasers. Missiles are to expensive for what the do now. Try and drop more upgrades for more models, ei warp spider exarch for more spiders. Drop reapers for WL, reapers arnt amazing in new dex. 3 man just drop to easy. Also find space for warlock in gaurdians, they help a lot.

Hope that helps

I'd like to know what your goal is with your Eldar army. I don't really see a discernable theme or plan of attack and that would really help me to give advice. I'm not really confident about any of the selections you've made so it would help to pick a few units and build a new list around those.

Executing Exarch

The Twilight Zone

Second dropping the clowns...they are just garbage in this codex with veil not being guaranteed. Second dropping the avengers as well. On foot, you need ten. If you want 5 to just hide in a serpent then fine, but on foot you want a full squad.

The warp spiders would be fine with just five bodies, but if you want the exarch just take fast shot and call it a day. Maybe TL the gun with spare points.

The EML's on the vypers would be better as scatter lasers, starcannons or lances. All are good, just depends on what you want to do. I like the scatter laser to TL the cannon and increase dakka, while the starcannon is cheap and makes a nice little TEQ hunting unit.

The dark reapers do not need marksman's eye, but they do need night vision so they can shoot their full range turn 1 and no cover saves.

With the points you save on the clowns, avengers, spider exarch, EML's to other guns and reapers marksman's eye to night vision you get the lord with 2 guns and a prism with holo fields.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Hey all, thanks for the feedback. Here's the revised list taking your thoughts into account.

HQ
1 Farseer with Singing Spear - 105

Troops
5 Rangers - 60
3 Windrider Jetbike Squad with Shuriken Cannon - 61
10 Defender Guardians with Starcannon Heavy Weapons Platform - 110

Fast Attack
5 Warp Spiders, Exarch with Fast Shot - 115
2 Viper Squad with Starcannons + Shuriken Cannon Upgrades - 130

Heavy Support
3 Dark Reapers, Exarch with Fast Shot, Night Vision - 120
1 Wraithlord with 2 BL, 2 Flamers - 160
1 Fire Prism with Holo-Fields - 140

I had to choose between setting a Warlock into the Guardian squad and beefing up the Reapers and Jetbikes to 5 model squads or taking the Fire Prism. In the end, I thought long distance flexibility was better with the Prism like Ninjafiredragon recommended.

As for your questions fuhrmaaj, to be honest, I dont have a central army strategy yet. I had a slew of models from when I used to play 6 or 7 years back and I wanted to make them into some sort of list that I could then augment and hone, so this is the first step of that process. I guess, looking at what I've got, I'll be running a long distance Parking Lot style army with the Spiders, Jetbikes and Vipers causing trouble for enemy units trying to get to me in CC. Everything else is MEQ/TEQ/AT chewing with Guide.

Hey! So I'll give you a list of some things you'd want to know about Eldar:

- Fire Prisms are good. Good at anything. It will loyally burn down anything you want it do (most of the time)
- Wave Serpents are very good. (90% of the time you want TL-SL shuriken cannon and holo-fields)
- Warp Spiders are extremely good (but don't take upgrades)
- Jetbikes are incomprehensibly good in any size, from 3 to 36...

So...onto your list. It looks nice but with a filled heavy support...Also something went wrong with your dark reaper points. Personally I'd drop the wraithlord for 10 dire avengers (with the shimmershield, 160 points as well) because then you can GUIDE (see what we did there) both the guardians and the DAs for TONS OF DAMAGE. Fire Prism takes the heavy armor while warp spiders take the light armor. Seems like enough to me.

Pretty solid list. Take a look at dem dark reapers tho

650

<- armour save
<- invulnerable save
<- cover save
<- scatter
<- morale check
<- psychic test

So I only own 7 Dire Avengers and am eventually going to buy more, but as of now, I'm trying to make this list playable with the models I already own or can convert, so fully tooling out a DA squad, while completely dobable eventually, is not. I do own 2 more Reapers, 2 more Jetbikes and a big flock of warlocks, if you think those would be a better use of points than the WL. My thoughts in that choice was around having a good second AT unit with some distraction and fear tactics in there also.

I did see the reaper points flub. I now have another 5 points to spare.

I will be buying Wave Serpents and more Dire Avengers to make a more cohesive Aspect Warrior list, but for now I'm trying to build a decently playable list on what I already have.
