When I set forth building Eldar...this was my first and only experience collecting models for a list, not an army. Usually i get a little bit of everything and play for fun...with Eldar I took my time only accumulating exactly what I need.

The list seems to be pretty balanced and adaptable thus far.

HQ
-Farseer (Jetbike)

-Autarch (Mantle of the Laughing God, Jetbike, Fusion Gun, Laser Lance)

TROOP
-10 Guardian Defenders
---Wave Serpent (TL Scatter Lasers, Holo Fields)

-10 Guardian Defenders
---Wave Serpent (TL Scatter Lasers, Holo Fields)

-10 Guardians Defenders
---Wave Serpent (TL Scatter Lasers, Holo Fields)

FAST
-Crimson Hunter

-7 Swooping Hawks (Exarch, Sunrifle)

-5 Shining Spears

HEAVY
-Wraithlord (2x Bright Lance, 2x Flamer, Ghostglaive)

-Wraithlord (2x Bright Lance, 2x Flamer, Ghostglaive)

-Night Spinner (Holofields)

It looks good and congrats on the wins. But I think you'd have a problem against the 50man blob squad with azreal a librarian a primaris psyker. There's a guy that runs that list near where I am and he pretty much can't loose. I think your list would have trouble against that sort of survivable horde.

If you are up against that horde you have to try tarpiting it with one of your wraithlords. If you have the money I would suggest you swaped them for a wraithknight though.

Also, make sure to kill all AA interceptor before your crimson hunter arrives, since even a quad gun will make it go away before it can do anything.

I am well equipped to take out AA in a turn...and even if i can't...the hunter is easy to hide or cover while causing damage...not to mention the autarch can help with delaying.

Horde is my largest issue...the Hawks and Spinner would need to be used carefully for that...and wraithlords yes.

It wouldn't be dakka without at least one "my list beats your list" comment.

I am in no way saying I have created a perfect list

I think it's a pretty solid list. I like the spinners, not many use them, but I think their really good.

The spinner was really necessary to add in because my list needed to have some ability to kill hordes...barrage is such a wonderful tool.

I have also had success in doubling out broadsides with it.

Still juggling with the idea of swapping my fusion gun for spirit stones on the spinner

Nah keep the fusion gun. Spirit stones arnt as useful as the fusion. You have holo fields, and that should be fine. (you do have holofeilds right? To lazy to scroll up and check....)

It is a nicely balanced list.

I think you may be able to improve on it slightly by dropping the Phoenix lord for a jetseer plus three bikes and an extra hawk to make 2x hawk squads. Extra utility and scoring/denial. Just a thought!

Hm...I don't like windriders...not that I think they're bad...they're just overdone around me.

I like to have my army be MY army...you know?

I could fit a seer with shining spears

Lots to like here. Can see why it would do well in casual play. I think you have probably the worst Phoenix Lord. He's never going to do his points worth of damage. Not good at range not great in CC.

I would dump him and all the Hawks and get as many Warp Spiders as you can (should be able to get 2 full squads don't bother with upgrades). I feel a Mantleseer would do more for the list overall than the Autarch. Even just from a reserves manipulation stand point let alone doom/guide/prescience.

Everything else looks solid.

I don't want Spiders...just not my flavor...

Do you think the aforementioned baharroth and 3 hawk swap for a bike seer and 5 spears is worth it?

I need the autarch...that is something i am not willing to compromise on...timing is everything for the spinner, hawks, and hunter

I don't think Shining Spears do very much. To be honest your Autarch does more though he would be far better off with a banshee mask and shard. He can then hunt MC characters too.

Shining Spears struggle against even tactical marines. Grey Hunters will just smash you even when you charge. No grenades and no pistols is just basic CC equipment that they need. If they had those they would actually be good. They don't do enough damage on the charge and they have to sit around for a second turn just getting punched in the face. Plus do you really want your Farseer in harms way like that?

How do I fit a Farseer in the list without bikes?

Or should I aim for a Spiritseer?

I need a Warlord that isn't the Solitaire.

I am also not willing to take out more than Bahorroth and 4 Hawks right now...I might be able to get on board with losing my hark exarch.

Thats

259-284 points to work with.

As for my Solitaire...I wanted to use a solitaire on a budget...for those times he gets turn 1 demolished by tau.

Foot Guardians, Foot Avengers, Scorpions, Rangers, Spears, and Foot Wraithblades are the only real considerations here for a spiritseer or farseer

Farseer would need jet bikes to run with. Spiritseer is pretty good but best if you have Wraiths. Which you don't and wouldn't get for those points (you need 10 if walking and preferably voice of twilight or a Wave Serpent for a small squad).

Your Autarch should fit behind a Wave Serpent just against Tau keep him out of LoS until the MLs are dead and serpent shields Kill Pathfinders!

Not sure what would be a good Warlord for you with those restrictions.

I am going to start with the 5 Spears and see how prescience works for them.

Will let dakka know how it goes for me.

Prescience will help. Still annoys me that the Eldar's elite CC troops don't have grenades yet guardians do. Whilst pistols would make such a difference to the spears hitting power. Just 2 attacks each on the charge for 25 points is frankly pathetic.

They other day I was testing a Jetseer...I got much more use out of him when grabbing guide and dual telepathy powers...i got hallucination and puppet master.

With spears he will nearly always be taking prescience...but I thoroughly enjoyed the offensive rather than augmented force multiplier.
