I'd like some help from the vast expertise of dakkadakka to choose a fitting color scheme for a unit of Scouts for a Grey Knight army.

First, I know, Scouts cannot be taken with Grey Knights, bla bla..
However, in a local story campaign, my Inquisitor has "required" the service of of a band of scouts from a fallen non-descript chapter, and my army list treats them as a second inq. henchmen warband, ie taking up an Elite slot. Since it's only for the story campaign, and everyone in it really likes the idea, I hope you guy's can cope with the rulebending too.

So for the actual request; how can I make the Scouts be part of a generic silverarmor-redcloth-tincanarmy, and still be "scouty"? I want them to look like they're part of the army, but still be somewhat usable for sneaking, which means no glaring details, or glittering armor.

All ideas will be happily considered.

If they where pulled from another chapter then they would probably be that chapters color.

a simple way to do it is generic neutral color armor like black or grey or white.

Scouts in Inquisition colors could look pretty cool...
red armour, black fatigues and gear...
simple, and deadly looking...

I'd think if the inquisitor permanently requisitioned them as part of his retinue, they'd be inquisition colors. Entirely up to you though.

The idea of matching them with the Inquisitor is a good one, I think I'll go for that, just with a little darker hue to highlight their stealthiness.
