So my opponent assaults my Fires. I support with paths and get a single marker hit. I use it to increase the BS of the overwatch. (As per rule for markers: pinpoint on p68)
My opponent then queries this saying something about an argument that you cant do it like that.
It seems pretty clear cut to me (and there's nothing FAQ'd anywhere to say otherwise) but i just wanted to make sure i didn't miss something.

anyone think of a reason this would not be legal?

PS thanks for the advise Dakka peeps. I am going to go with collecting Tau (despite the hate). I think its reluctance to listen to the Mont'ka (greater good).

The old dex specifically denied it in the faq, thats probaly where it came from. Bunch of stuff they specifically forbid before is legal now, and to me makes tau more strong than the ignore cover markerlight.
Though some things need to be refaqed because the issue arrose again, such as seeker missiles vs fliers.

But back on topic yes its legal to improve bs in overwatch now, should your markerlights land that is

The above is correct.

The only other thing I could see him confusing is a unit can't increase its own skill with marker lights. But that's a stretch how he'd be going there.
