Anyone else think that IG need some new rough rider models? The only models you can buy atm from GW are these ones

Don't know about you but I I'm not a fan of those models. You used to be able to buy Krieg Ones from forgeworld, but you can't anymore ): .

Matching rough riders would look realy cool with the more cyberpunky/retro armies like Krieg or First born.

Also you can get the tallarn ones, but they're no good unless your building a tallarn army...

Schrott

Generally Rough riders can be mounted on anything you want if you can model it.
from dirt bikes, to big motorcycles, to some weird alien mount, to even Segways or other bizarre devices.

but it requires time and effort to build them, and plastic part and pieces.

You still can.

They're under the Krieg Infantry and Accessories section on the second page. All 5 of the poses still 100% available.

But yes, RR need a new plastic sculpt, or something. They also need better rules.

Hell, if buying mounts as an upgrade for a single CCS unlocked a single RR platoon (no heavy weapons purchaseable), they'd be infinitely better.

i use some attilan, some tallarn RR's,

and some bretonian knights, and man at arms on horses,

heck throw in some lizard riders with the ears/heads swapped

I actually like the atillan/tallarn look! except the crappy looking pistols i guess

Thanks, silly me, didn't realise there was a page 2

Did you modify them? Would be a reasonably tricky modification I would imagine. A lot of painstaking head clipping.

Dedicated vostroyan rough riders would be very cool. So cool that I might even start a first born army.

They don't deserve better models until they get better rules.

In fact, that probably has something to do with why they haven't gotten new models already. If people were fielding them, GW would see the purpose of being able to charge more for nicer looking new stuff.

Oh, I can see it now.

Brand new, multi-part RR kit, with optional SUPER HORSE on a monster base as a squad upgrade. RR have a 3+ save and can use their power lances every turn. They also get 3 attacks base, and cost 7ppm.

No... that's not what I meant...

That's... that's not... that's not fair...

GW can't out-meta and out-irony Ailaros! NO!

... then again, I'm already starting to like mainstream, because hating mainstream is too mainstream...

I think when the IG codex is updated there will be new rider minatures.

Or they might just re-release them as finecast for twice the price or something. I want to make dirt-bike rough riders anyways, but it'd still be sad to see.

What someone online on the other side of the world that you've never met says should never deter you from taking a unit for being either weak or OP. The community is a great place to come for tactics advice, and there is a lot of very sound opinions and idea out there, but at the end of the day, play the game how you want to... Don't worry about the hordes of Dakka descending on your gaming club to arrest you for taking one heldrake or not using a screamerstar. Knowing the standard opinion (and that's all it is) on what is good/bad and conforming to that opinion religiously are two entirely separate things.
