Hello, DakkaLads.
I bought a box of SternGuards a while ago. (Metal)
And I was wondering if the SternGuards were actually there own unit in the Dark Angels codex. And weren't just representing a Dark Angels unique squad.

But we're actually and fully "SternGuard Veterans".
With there own page in the codex hopefully

Sternguard and Vanguard aren't in the DA codex, but DA can use Veteran squads which are essentially the same thing.

Ok, thanks. Do the Dark Angels veterans function the same as normal space marine veterans?

If your allowed to answer that without it being copyright...

Stats possibly war gear?
Only if you're allowed though

Our Vets dont get special ammunition. But they can take a lot of different wargear. It just makes them get expensive fast.

Good to know.
Are the veterans a good unit?
Point wise and on the tabletop?

Or are they to expensive for there own good?

Generally, no, I think they are too expensive. Command squads usually are the better option. They use essentially the same models though.

11,100 pts, 7,000 pts

Ok thanks for the info,
I was hoping to use the special issue ammo.
But evidently not

Special Issue Ammo for DA would be way too powerful with the Dakka Banner in your army.

You're asking an awful lot of questions that can be simply answered by picking up the Codex and having a look. I appreciate you may not want to buy it if you're not going to collect them, but we are not a replacement for the Codex. Have a flick through of a friend's or a store copy, if you have to.

I already tried that, but none of my mates have it.
And I checked my local store and they had given the store copy to someone to take to a tournament...

I will need to look at a dark angel codex rather than people have to tell me off for it...
