Hi Guys,
Right firstly I appreciate any input on this.
Originally we were going to play 2000pts - but we've bumped up to 2500. I'm basically running Njal/RP/Wolf Priest, with 3 LF packs (2 of 4 ML, 1 of 5 ML),6 man Termie WG (combi-plasma/PF, one plain upgraded to Arjac), 5 10 man GH squads with 2 Plasma, Standard, MOTW, and 2 squads of Wolf Scouts, and a Whirlwind.
Idea is to use Njal to go up the centre with 4 squads of GH (he is in term armour, and will have another term in the squad), whilst the RP sits at the back with the largest LF squad, with Divination powers (and a WG termie with Cyclone) and the other 2 LF squads and Whirlwind. I'll bring the outflanking Arjac/Wolf Priest squad in with the 2 scouts at the back.
I'm concerned that he is going to bring a Vanquisher and Executioner. My original plan relied on his short range shooting - I was going to make short work of anything in his back line with the LF's. However, as he is now taking guard I've added in the wolfscouts (they have melta guns and krak...should be enough I hope) to suicide his tanks, and the WP/Arjac outflanking combo should end his face (mwhahahaha!) (STR 10 AP 1 assault shot before charging in with a Thunderhammer and krak...sweet sweet dead tanks).
Do you think I'm going to get slaughtered walking up the table? He is quite aggressive (needs to get his SOB in range), and uses Rhinos. I can see myself assaulting him in T2 if I deploy at the edge of my deployment zone (if we get short table edges potentially T3). I know from experience my GH outshoot his fair ladies.
Do I have much to worry about here? I know from experience, that my GH can reach his lines, and assault full SOB squads when down to 5 men and still win easily (long as you keep that standard alive!). I'm just worried he will pie me to oblivion before that happens. Is it a good bet to keep my GH under the guns of my LF's, so that if he does get into a line of sight position I just shoot the hell out of him with 16 missiles (8 of those TL'd...)? I know I must use ALL available cover on the approach!
Thanks for the input. He has beaten me a few times, AND IT CAN STAND NO LONGER! FOR THE BEER-GOD, AND THE GOD OF BEARDS AND LOOKING HARD AND ALL THAT.
