So... this is my first Post here. I was reading Dakka a long time but did not wrote anything until now. What has changed? I finally got a digicam, not a good one, but okay to start with. So this thread is not only to show you what i am doing, it is also to motivate myself to do some work.

I really like (most) of the 40K background, but since alliances and the fast codex changes i lost my fun to play, even with my startarmy: The Tau Empire. I was not able to empathize with my army anymore so i started to sell them to get the money for my biggest project until now. The idea started when i found a link here on Dakka that lead me to the fanmade Codex Cult Mechanicus... when i saw it, i was instantly in love. THAT was the army i was looking for all the time! So i began to order Bitz anywhere i could find them, sat in my room to draw some sketches, prepared background and now it is the time to show my first results... hopefully a lot more is following.

If you like my work, try to keep my motivation up. You could sing me praises for example (I don't really know if this is a good idea.. but we will see)
Of course i am open to some piece of advise or critics, if it is helping me to get better. If you have questions or want some more WIP - Pics i will try to get what you guys want

First i wanted to start with a scratch build Cataphractus Glaive Strike Tank... but i am still waiting for some essentiell parts. So i could not start with it... but then i got some other Orders and i started with some Skitarii.

Thats all for the moment... and i am not completly sure if they are finished, perhaps i will have some new ideas for them the next days. But they are only a small part of this project and i have to work on other construction sites too. Please let me know what you think of it right now

A new day... some new work. I am still waiting for some models/bits, so i could not start with the things i planned. Nevermind, there are enough parts to start something else i will need for my Adepticus army...



So, what might this thing be? While i will work on the housing for the tank tracks you could try to figure out what this will become once it is done.

Always love to see Mechanicus! Certainly looks like your off to a good start. Is it possible to get some more close up shots of the troops? I can't really tell what sort of bits you used.

I admit that WH40K is Imperium-heavy as it is, but I really like the Mechanicus. I'd love to see a GW-approved Mechanicus Codex.

How will you play yours? Will they count-as Imperial Guard?

As long as my opponent will accept it, i will play with http://www.tempusfugitives.co.uk/pdf/40k/Codex%20Cult%20Mechanicus.pdf. Else i would play it as Imperial Guard with some sort of Space Marine Allies (for the tougher Robot Units).

The models i have used for the Hypaspist are the Tox Troopers from Anvil Industries. But be careful, since they are NOT Heroic - Scale they are really puny humans

Since i got a lot of Krisis i have plenty of the weapons leftover. I tried to get a few more Detail Pics... but the Digicam is really meh. Guess i have to get a better one where i dont have to hold my breath to not blur all my pics^^ And i think i will need a good background and light for better pics too.

When i was searching through my Bits - Box i looked at some parts... and suddenly hat an idea. Its still an very early WIP (and misses the Admech - Look). It is a Stornfury Rocket Battery, similar too a Whirlwind - Missle Launcher, later manned by some Techpriests.



Even if there is still a lot of work to do, i like the design because the stand is really, really simple to build

My mysterious vehicle is doing well too, but i am not overfly impressed with the quality. (And the heat is not making anything better)
I will see what i am able to save and what parts i have to redo when everything will be put together. Any ideas what this thing will become?

Sorry my little guy, you are just here to show the size... When this tank is ready there won't be any transport capacity.

Finally my ordered bases arrived, so there is a little update:



There will is still some work to do as they are missing some servo skulls and other small details, but i hope i can finish them soon (and then take some really good pics)

With the bases i got some of the Iron Brotherhood Modells from Micro Arts... these Techpriests will be the crew for the Stormfury Batteries. I got some of the other Brotherhood models too... but i will first finish the Batteries with crew and the hypaspists before i will assemble them





The work on the vehicle is going on too... i am almost done with the chassis. It is still looking like an edgy box, and i am a bit unhappy with it... but i hope it will look much better when the plating is done and when it is carrying the cabin and the Admech markings. The various weapon turrets i planned will following last.

Some new updates. I was working on the load area of the tank... i am not sure if something like this will look good. Perhaps it is a bit over the top. Let me know what you guys think. Like the way that i am going atm?




I continued to work on the Praetorians and my Artillery Techpriests... they are not final yet and i really dont like my pics. There is no way to get it better without a tripod.




So, i have not done very much, but it is too hot to work hard. And the bad pics demotivate me... guess i have to look for a good (and affordable) digicam. Any suggestions?

I love watching these Adeptus Mehcanicus forces come to life, the best bit for me is that you have to convert almost every model.
At some point I do plan on building my own, haven't got round to it yet though,
but you seem to of made a great start, plus I like where that tank is going, and I don't think it looks over the top, the more detail the better I think .

I'll be subscribing to this,
and I look forward to seeing how it progress.

So, here's a little new update. Since i am waiting for a hot wire cutter i could not continue to work on the artillery plattform... so i did this



It was my first modelled skull... yay... and it took me quite some time to get this result. But what would 40K be without some (mostly silly) skulls?
The turret is a synch. Assault Cannon for my Storm Hawk Kontarion, a flyer similiar to a Storm Raven. His job is to transport a vehicle to the front lines. For this job there are some electromagnets mounted under the hull (not in the pic).



He does not look really big, but he is. But we all now: Imperial Tech will only get better if it is bigger

Well, i am sorry that it got a bit silent here... but the i want to show: i am still alive and working on this project

The aircraft itself has two time consuming problems: Bubbles and sections in the cast... and not only a few. Most of the puppetwars - bits i've got have similar problems to a certain degree. If you want to buy parts from puppetwars, accept that you will need a lot of cleaning work.

Currently i am working on this typical Admech - edging - thing... whatever it may be called



Hopefully the next days will bring some real progress... if i find time to build, sometimes RL is a bitch^^

Triming I would say. Liking most of your stuff so far. The Rocket Battery is needing some cables perhaps from the base to the Techpriests. For inspiration have you seen Manus ADMech PMlog? He is using the very same fandex.

I like your skitarii a lot, but I'm not a fan of the elongated necks. I can't wait to see your completed force! : )

Well, the rocket battery had some updates too. I like the idea to connect the crew with the weapon through some cables, but this is diificult since it is an artillery unit and not a weaponteam. Perhaps i should build a "plug" with a magnet inside. If this is working i could disconnect the crew if one member dies or walks away from the weapon. But first: Here is the new picture from the Stormfury Battery (the second is in work too, but still early stage)... and i think i will test the idea with the cables the next few days



Today i managed to nearly completed the sensor unit with will controll the Storm Hawk. As you can see the "cockpit" is closed, there will be no pilot. All passengers should praise the machine spirits if they want to reach the battlefield in one piece.

So, some small little updates. I finished the cockpit from the Storm Hawk

I am a bit ashamed that i did not do an update for a long time... but now here is something new.
The Flyer is now nearly done, only some minor detail to work through are left.


I still have a lot unfinished Skitarii around me, but here are three of the new unit leaders


And now... finally... because it could not be AdMech without some crazy robots... I present: Crazy Robots! Interesting Fun Fact... these are my first models from GW for this army. I really like to work with the AdMech stuff from Forgeworld (and i want the new spoilered models from them too). They could make so much more money out of me if they would sell more cool models than the few finecrap techpriests (i wont ever buy a model that is made out of finecast). But everything is fine as long Forgeworld is continuing the great AdMech work that they are doing for 30K.


The Hunchback of Notre Dame? Well no, this is the early version of my Archmagos Prime, that thing on his back is a shield generator that keeps his robots safe against shots (it does not save them against "beeing VERY slowly eaten by hormagaunts and gargoyles... i hope those bastards have much digestive problems now. Yesterday i had my last stand with 34 models against about 150 tyranids. I tried everything to deny them biomass but the parasite made some swarms out of my last standing model)

I'll be back! Since i had to give the crappy camera back to the owner i decided to give myself a christmas present. Now i am able to take photos again and i continue my work here (and perhaps i will do some battlereports or video battle reports too...)

I used my time to paint my first Tarantula, wich i will use for my Admech - Project. The homeplanet for my divison is a dusty desert deathplanet, a radioactive wasteland near a neutron binary star, covered with strange (Necron) Ruins and Pylon, so i decided to some sort of "desert camo"... well, kind of. I hope you like my really, really better pic. If you want some better pic from my old work, just say something and i will retake the photos.



I will continue my work on my other tarantulas, but i am a very very slow painter (and easily distracted by other funny things), so perhaps it will take some time. My Flyer was ready some time, but then... he took an arrow to his knee... No really, but something stupid did happend: I dropped both of my swords unto the flyer und he did not make his FnP. So his is in repair again (and atm i am not really motivated to repair it)

Superb efforts here, very high production value too, seeing as most stuff is heavily converted. I'm also glad to see Anvil Industries stuff being used, I use some of their products myself - fine items indeed!

I have some Adeptus Mechanicus stuff that I will eventually get to doing as well, I just have so many things to work on!
