The Company Command Squad and both Tactical Squads are deployed inside Land Raider Crusaders, the Techmarine and Ravenwing Bikers follow behind the Land Raiders giving them a 4+ invu save.

So the guys at my FLGS tell me that the banner inside the LR doesn't work, they say it has to be outside now. Abilities with range have to be outside the vehicle.

I don't know about that. They nerfed the PFG inside a vehicle, but I haven't read about the banners.

Check out the FAQ. PFGs must be outside the LR, but banners can be in.

Ya the FAQ stopped the PFG not the banners ... which is why the techmarine is on the bike with the ravenwing squad. With the List you have a possible of 172 bolter shots (I doubt the command squad or bikers are ever going to disembark / move into LOS, but thats the total number) a turn 72 of those just being from the land raiders (that have a 4+ invu save and x3 AV14 tanks on the board) and 3 twin-linked assault cannons, 2 flamers, 5 multi-meltas. How do you guys think the list will fare?

It's mean, it really is. Honestly I would invest in upgrading them to a Deathwing vehicle. One decent Melta roll and a failed +4 (all too common) could be a dead crusader. I really think its worth a reroll on that.

40 points per land raider to do it though ..... would mean cutting out the PFG or the ravenwing guys (who are extra wounds for the techmarine) - at 2k points yeah def .... at 1500 i'm not sure

I'd drop the bikes for the veteran lr's. 3 aren't going to do much, they can't score, too small to be a threat, and easily killed. Other wise add some special weapons to.out flank or scout and kill first turn, preferably melta.

the bikes are there as extra wounds for the techmarine who is giving the LR's 4+ invu - and with SoD they do shoot 12 twin-linked bolter rounds. @nashole, glad it helped =)

At 1500 you have to make some sacrifices to make Tri-raider work but it's also more effective because its that much less dedicated AT.
Here's what I recommend, been play Tri-raider since 4th Ed.
Libby: Bike, PFG
PACS x5: SoD
Techmarine
x10 Tacs w/ MG
x10 Tacs w/ MG
LRC: MM, DWV
LRC: MM, DWV
LRC: MM, DWV
1500 on the nose. You lose the ablative wounds on the PFG but hear me out. You NEED Deathwing vehicle. There's less melta than there was but with eldar regaining popularity there's also more lance. Rerolling that explodes result is pure gold. You've still got a 4++, albeit a less survivable one and you can still repair, albeit he's on foot. You'll want to be moving 6" most of the time anyway though.
In other news, points are better spent on MG's over MM's for the tacs. Assault > Heavy when it comes to disembarkation.
It's a fun list. Easy to push around the board, resilient and there's no list with more dakka. It still isn't too tier but nothing from C  A is.
